Among the coastal ports, CICT is a deep-water port with the most modern, synchronous and best infrastructure in Quang Ninh . The port currently manages and operates berths 2, 3 and 4 of Cai Lan Port, located in a closed bay, the port entrance is less silted, the water level in front of the berth is -13m, equipped with modern facilities such as 4 Panamax type STS shore cranes with a reach of 17 rows of containers, ERTG cranes, forklifts, container trucks in the yard, a crane system for handling bulk cargo and synchronous logistics services.
In the context of global economic integration and the continuous development of international trade, improving the exploitation capacity at seaports plays a decisive role in competitiveness and the ability to meet the increasing demands of modern supply chains... From that perspective, CICT optimizes all operational processes, from managing goods in warehouses to applying the most advanced technologies to synchronize the cargo handling process, bringing maximum value to customers and partners.
In order to enhance competitiveness, CICT has upgraded and invested in a new Web Portal system with utilities to support customers to look up information on shipments, ship schedules, invoices and perform procedures online anytime, anywhere. This helps shorten processing time, increase transparency and significantly reduce traditional paperwork. The port is currently focusing on completing the investment in an AI license plate recognition system. When put into use, the system will support automatic control of incoming and outgoing vehicles, contributing to increased safety, accuracy and operational efficiency.
To enhance security monitoring as well as avoid fraud and loss of goods during the exploitation process, CICT has organized advanced security training; implemented automatic counting and reconciliation procedures; put into use an unlimited distance camera system, helping the operating department to monitor images in real time, promptly handle arising situations. At the same time, enhance the management of goods loss through a new generation electronic scale system with high accuracy, directly integrated into the management system, ensuring that all volumes of goods imported and exported from the warehouse are recorded with absolute accuracy. From there, strictly control the weight of goods, avoid loss and information distortion. This not only preserves the value of assets for customers but also affirms the reputation and operational capacity of the port...
At the same time, focus on developing logistics services, such as: Road transport, waterway transport from Hai Phong to Cai Lan and vice versa; reduce the load for large tonnage ships; improve loading and unloading capacity, timely supply of logistics services; improve storage efficiency through optimizing space arrangement and allocation strategies, investing in modern loading and unloading equipment to increase productivity, significantly shorten loading and unloading time, moving goods... These have created convenience, utility, cost savings for customers, increased exploitation efficiency, in line with the development trend of international maritime transport, highly appreciated by people and businesses, contributing to attracting goods, promoting the advantages of Quang Ninh's seaports.
With innovative solutions and effective application of technology to enhance competitiveness, in the first 5 months of 2025, CICT's total bulk cargo output reached more than 3 million tons, an increase of 10% over the same period in 2024. From there, it contributed to the overall growth of the province's seaports with an increase of over 7%, making an important contribution to Quang Ninh completing the socio-economic development scenarios for the first 6 months and the whole year of 2025, becoming a key growth pole in the Northern region.
