As an island area with a storm shelter port, regularly receiving a large number of transport ships and fishing boats from other provinces to anchor, the task of controlling people and vehicles entering and leaving the area is an important task, focused on by the Special Zone Police. The regional police team regularly checks and reviews boats anchored overnight, requires the owners of the vessels to present documents, and verifies the residence information of sailors and crew members.

Captain Nguyen Trung Vinh, Head of the Regional Police Team, said: Fishing boats from other localities often anchor for a few days to refuel, repair or avoid storms and winds. Every time they receive information about a boat entering the port, the Team conducts an inspection, both to prevent illegal activities and to ensure the safety of people and vehicles in the area.

Since the beginning of 2025, through inspections, the Special Zone Police have discovered and handled two cases of crew members who could not present their ID cards; no signs of serious violations of the law have been detected. The positive results demonstrate the effectiveness of management and close coordination and supervision between the government, functional forces and the people.

The inspection and management of business establishments with security conditions are carried out seriously. Because this is an area where disorderly behavior can easily arise, such as gathering crowds, violating operating hours, using banned substances, and providing sensitive services.

The establishment clearly understands the regulations, always strictly complies, and resolutely refuses to serve customers who show signs of using banned substances or unhealthy behavior.

Night patrols are deployed synchronously by the police force during peak periods, major holidays, and important political events of the locality, province, and country. From 8-11pm every day, the Public Order Police Team coordinates with the grassroots security force to patrol key routes, densely populated areas, ports, etc. to promptly detect and handle violations of security and order, and maintain a safe environment for residents and tourists.

Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Trieu Hung, Chief of Co To Special Zone Police, emphasized: Although the population is not too dense, the number of boats and tourists is always fluctuating, so the work of ensuring security and order in the locality needs to be proactive, close, not passive, surprised in all situations. Along with professional measures, the unit focuses on building models in the movement of the whole people to protect national security, promoting the effectiveness of the security camera system. Thanks to that, people actively provide information, support the functional forces to monitor the area, contributing to creating a solid security posture from the grassroots. Since the implementation of the 2-level local government model up to now, the security and order situation in the locality has been basically guaranteed, no incidents related to social order have occurred, contributing to building a safe and friendly Co To.
