Not stopping at the traditional training form, fire prevention and fighting work in schools has been strongly innovated in both content and method. Competitions, experiential programs, simulations, dramatizations... are held regularly, attracting a large number of students to participate. In the past 2 years, the image of students in uniforms, enthusiastically practicing fire fighting, putting out fires with fire extinguishers, standing on ladder trucks, escaping with slow-lowering rope ladders... has become not so strange. No longer just listening to lectures on fire prevention and fighting skills, students are "learning by experience", "practicing like real", transforming into firefighters, or in the role of victims to practice self-rescue skills, thereby deepening awareness and training courage when encountering fire and explosion incidents.
The “114 Fire Alarm” contest on October 11 at Hon Gai High School was a vivid example. With the participation of 5 teams from 5 schools: Hon Gai High School; Ha Long High School for the Gifted; Le Thanh Tong Primary, Secondary and High School; UKA Ha Long International Bilingual Academy; Ngo Quyen High School, the contest brought real-life experiences and received a lot of encouragement from the students. The staged greeting performances, the theory and practice competition were designed as an interactive lesson, helping students play, learn and remember situation handling skills.
Colonel Le Hong Van, Deputy Director of the Provincial Police, affirmed: The contest is not only an educational playground, but also a strategic step in building a people's fire prevention posture from within the school. When students have knowledge and skills, they are young propagandists spreading safety awareness in the family and community.

Since the beginning of 2025, the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police (Provincial Police) has coordinated with the Provincial Department of Education and Training to organize propaganda, experience, practice programs and organize the "114 Fire Alarm" Contest at 171 schools in the province.
Deputy Director of the Department of Education and Training Chau Hoai Thu commented: Organizing various forms of propaganda about fire prevention and fighting, such as ringing the golden bell, skits, drills... makes students more interested than traditional teaching. Thereby helping them practice discipline, calmness and teamwork skills, these are important qualities in life skills education.
Along with direct propaganda and education activities, the Provincial Police launched the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Youtube channel with the animated film "Speed Rescue Team". Here, fire prevention and rescue knowledge is conveyed through animated characters with lively language, close to the age of students. This is a creative way to bring legal information on fire prevention and rescue to students through the familiar means in life that they still use every day.
Fire prevention is not only a skill to respond to incidents, but also a lesson in responsibility and the spirit of caring for others. When a student knows how to handle a fire and escape safely, he or she not only protects himself or herself, but can also save friends, teachers, and relatives. Pham Chau An (student of the British Academy International Bilingual School) shared after a practice session with the fire prevention force: "Before, I only listened to the theory, now I can directly hold a fire extinguisher and escape. I understand that every delay can affect the lives of others."
In the coming time, the Provincial Police and the Department of Education and Training will continue to coordinate to deploy the model of "Fire Prevention and Fire Fighting Safe School". Contents on fire prevention, escape, and situation handling are integrated into the life skills program, during activities and extracurricular activities. Experience sessions are organized periodically every quarter, aiming to train students in safety reflexes from an early age.
Equipping students with fire prevention and fighting skills is not only a movement activity, but has become an important content in life skills education and shaping civic personality. "We hope to form in each student the habit of observing and detecting fire and explosion risks, knowing how to report fires, and using on-site fire fighting equipment. When those skills become reflexes, the school environment will be truly safe" - Captain Phan Van Thanh, Deputy Head of the Fire Fighting Team, Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Department (Provincial Police), affirmed.
