Large-scale fire prevention and rescue drill at Vinh Tan 1 Thermal Power Plant

On the morning of November 2, the Provincial Fire Fighting and Rescue Drill Organizing Committee held a large-scale drill with the participation of many forces at Vinh Tan 1 BOT Thermal Power Plant, Vinh Hao Commune (Lam Dong).

Participating in the rehearsal were representatives of leaders of departments, branches, localities and related units.

The drill took place in a hypothetical situation on the morning of December 2, 2025, while the factory was operating, a thunderstorm with lightning struck the oil tank at the time the lightning protection system was being maintained, causing the tank to explode and the fire to spread to the coal storage area, releasing a lot of toxic smoke and affecting boiler No. 1. Workers promptly escaped, activated the fire alarm and notified the Fire Prevention and Fighting Police (PCCC) and Rescue.

The drill helps improve the situation handling capacity, combat skills, command ability and initiative of the forces.

Upon receiving the news, the Lam Dong Provincial Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Department mobilized 1 rescue vehicle, 6 fire trucks, 1 ladder truck, 1 tanker truck and 60 officers and soldiers from Teams of Regions 5, 6, 7, 8, 9. The Provincial Police and Vinh Hao Commune Police quickly arrived to support.

Faced with the complicated situation, the Head of the Provincial Fire Prevention and Rescue Steering Committee reported to the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Department to request support. Khanh Hoa Provincial Police then mobilized 1 ladder truck and 3 officers and soldiers to participate in the coordination.

With unified command and smooth coordination between forces, the fire in the simulated situation was completely extinguished. The rescue work ensured safety. The exercise helped improve the situation handling capacity, combat skills, command ability and initiative of the forces in responding to real incidents.
