Thien Cam beach resort , located in Thien Cam commune, Ha Tinh province, is facing serious pollution as tons of waste are washed ashore, stretching for kilometers after consecutive storms and floods. The once picturesque landscape has now become a mess, greatly affecting the beauty and tourism activities here.
Caused by a series of natural disasters
According to records, this situation is a direct result of natural disasters that have affected Ha Tinh since the end of August. Specifically, two strong storms, Kajiki (storm No. 5) and Bualoi (storm No. 10), have caused severe impacts. Then, heavy rains and floods in October swept a huge amount of waste from many places and washed ashore at Thien Cam beach.

Alarming situation
Along the coast, rubbish piles up in large piles, including everything from trees, rotten wood, household waste to plastic packaging and old fishing nets. The thick layer of rubbish not only causes unsightliness but also poses a potential risk of environmental pollution, making it impossible for many restaurants and coastal businesses to restore operations.

Images of wooden blocks, tree roots and plastic rubbish lying around have replaced the beauty of one of Ha Tinh's famous beaches, creating a messy and worrying scene.

Cleanup efforts and challenges ahead
A representative of the People’s Committee of Thien Cam commune said that the local government has mobilized forces to collect waste and repair damage after each storm. However, the large amount of waste that was continuously pushed ashore after the October floods has made the treatment work difficult.
In the coming time, the commune government will continue to coordinate with relevant units, increase forces and specialized vehicles to speed up the progress of garbage collection and treatment, with the goal of soon returning a clean and beautiful landscape to Thien Cam beach and restoring tourism activities.
