Vice Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the commune, Secretary of the Dong Xuan Commune Youth Union Le Thi Cam Huong, said: “We mobilized about 40 youth union members to coordinate with the military and police forces... to divide into groups to support people in clearing mud, re-roofing houses, and collecting waste after the flood. Many union members also helped single-parent and disadvantaged households rearrange their belongings and clean wells to soon stabilize their lives.”

After the flood, Mr. Le Hung Vinh in Long An village, who was supported by the government and youth union members, shared: “My house was flooded nearly 2 meters deep. The floodwaters rose so quickly that my family only had time to move some of their belongings up high and escape. Many of their belongings were damaged. Luckily, the commune officials and youth union members came to help with the initial cleanup so that we could have a temporary place to rest. Thank you to the government for your concern and not letting people be left behind after the flood.”

Along with that, the leaders of Dong Xuan commune directed the Economic Department to coordinate with specialized units to inspect and assess the extent of damage to agriculture and traffic, promptly propose plans to repair and restore infrastructure to serve production and people's travel.
The Commune Health Center strengthens environmental sanitation, disinfection, water treatment after floods, and proactively prevents epidemics, especially in deeply flooded areas.

Chairman of the People's Committee of Huynh Tuan An commune said that the locality is focusing all resources to soon stabilize people's lives; at the same time, continue to count and update damages to report to superiors and propose timely support.
According to initial statistics, the whole commune had 3,067 flooded houses, of which 1,974 houses were flooded over 1 meter; 1 house completely collapsed and 68 houses had their roofs blown off. Heavy rain also caused about 50 meters of fence at a school, 30 meters of fence at Phu Son village Cultural House and 50 meters of fence at the commune police headquarters (base 2).
The area of crops that were downed and flooded was estimated at 2,564 hectares, mainly acacia, eucalyptus, sugarcane, cassava and summer rice. In addition, 3 cows and more than 1,400 poultry were swept away; some roads were eroded with a total length of about 2 km; 9 lighting poles were broken and felled.

This afternoon, the Provincial Military Command will support 150 officers and soldiers, and the Provincial Police will add 40-50 officers and soldiers to help Dong Xuan commune overcome damage and clean up the environment to quickly stabilize life after the storm and flood.
Previously, from November 6, 64 officers and soldiers of the Provincial Police were present to help the locality in storm response and flood recovery.
