Da Nang International Airport implements paperless flight procedures

Da Nang International Airport officially implemented paperless aviation procedures through facial recognition technology (Face ID) integrated on the VneID electronic identification application at Da Nang airport.

Initially, the system will be applied to passengers of Vietnam Airlines and Vietjet Air on domestic flights.

The implementation of biometric check-in procedures marks an important step forward in the modernization and digital transformation of the aviation industry, contributing to improving passenger experience and affirming the pioneering role of Da Nang International Airport in applying high technology in operations.

According to a representative of Da Nang International Airport, passengers using the VNeID application for facial authentication will go through three main steps:

The first step is to check in online by opening the VNeID application, selecting "Other services" → "Airline procedures" → "Check-in online" and following the instructions. Passengers can also register their facial data directly at check-in counters 05, 06 and 28 at the terminal.

The second step is to check security by moving to the security checkpoint at aisle 3 - Passenger Terminal T1, which is equipped with a biometric identification system. Stand in the designated position, look at the screen for the system to recognize your face. After successful authentication, the inspection door will automatically open.

The third step is at the boarding gate, passengers continue to have their faces recognized for authentication at the boarding gate. After the system confirms the information, the door will automatically open without having to present documents or contact staff.

To ensure a smooth check-in process, Da Nang International Airport recommends that passengers use a level 2 VNeID electronic identification account and update the application to the latest version.

Download the airline's official mobile app to help confirm information. Bring a valid ID such as a Citizen ID or passport as a backup in case of system failure and the System is only available to passengers aged 14 and over.

Da Nang International Airport also said that in the coming time, the unit will continue to expand the scope of biometric technology application to more airlines and routes, while upgrading infrastructure to build a smart, modern airport model, in sync with the national digital transformation strategy.
