Recently, the Northern Power Customer Care Center (Northern Power Corporation - EVNNPC) has received many complaints about customers receiving calls impersonating electricity employees.
Subjects contacted with the reason: Electricity calculated the electricity bill incorrectly during the period of changing the meter reading schedule to the last days of the month, so they should contact to refund the % according to the bill, or pay the excess electricity bill to the customer.
Specifically, customers in Hai Duong received calls from phone number 02207779998, introducing themselves as electricity employees, asking customers to send electricity bills to confirm information on electricity payment transfer with the reason that the electricity company miscalculated the electricity bill during the period of changing the meter reading schedule to the last days of the month.

Some customers in Bac Ninh received calls from the phone number 02227779923 asking to provide electricity bills for January, February and March to receive a refund of 10% -15% of the bill on the total consumption in 2023 and 2024. The reason for receiving the refund is because the electricity company is having a program to support customers on electricity bills.
After receiving the call, the above customers will send a friend request via Zalo and ask the customer to send the electricity bill information for comparison. They will then instruct the customer to update their profile through the electricity company's information to receive a refund via a strange link or website or instruct the customer to install an application (app) on their phone to update their profile.
In response to the information, EVNNPC affirms that the above-mentioned subjects are impersonating electricity employees and providing completely untrue information. In order to prevent impersonation and fraudulent acts that affect the reputation of the electricity industry, EVNNPC respectfully requests customers to be vigilant, not to provide personal information, not to access strange links, ... when receiving messages impersonating the electricity industry via SMS, zalo, telegram, messenger, viber, ... for any suspicious information or information that needs to be verified, customers should contact the Customer Care Center hotline 19006769 (available 24/7) for answers.
