Among the inspiring figures of 'Living Beautifully' Season 4 - 'Sharing Love', who were awarded prizes on the morning of December 20th at the Thanh Nien Newspaper office (Ho Chi Minh City), the story of Én Nhỏ (real name: Huỳnh Thanh Thảo, 38 years old) touched the audience with her perseverance and efforts to live not only for herself but also for others.
One of the special parts of the "Living Beautifully" Season 4 awards ceremony was the honoring and listening to the stories of the inspiring figures of the season. The most touching sharing came from the character "Little Swallow" in the article "Swallows Carrying Spring" by author Hoang Ngoc Thanh (winner of the encouragement award in the Feature, Reportage, and Notes category). Ms. Huynh Thanh Thao and Mr. Le Anh Tuan – the young man who has provided over 1,000 free ambulance trips in Thu Dau Mot City, Binh Duong Province over the past 5 years – in the article "Night Knights" in Thu Dau Mot by author Nguyen Duy Khanh (winner of the second prize in the Feature, Reportage, and Notes category), were two of the individuals who shared their stories in this section.

Ms. Huynh Thanh Thao is a familiar face to Thanh Nien Newspaper. She won third prize in the "Eastern Spirit" writing contest organized by Thanh Nien Newspaper, and today she is honored in the 4th season of the "Living Beautifully" contest. In the article "Swallows Carrying Spring," author Hoang Ngoc Thanh recounts a heart-stopping incident when Ms. Thao successfully organized a "Da Lat tour for people in similar circumstances on Vietnam's Disabled Persons Day, April 18th." A volunteer carrying her tripped and fell during the return trip. She nearly died from the fall. She spoke about her near-fatal accident with great optimism: "I've faced death many times. A few days ago, my bones were fractured, but I'm still here. In that accident, I thought I was going to die. 99% certain. Blood was gushing from my nose and mouth. My spine was broken. But by a miracle, I survived. Many people say I'm brave and lucky for surviving those times, but I reserve the word 'brave' for my parents, who have always been by my side during the darkest moments of my life."

Ms. Huynh Thanh Thao shared that her near-death experiences have given her more courage to live and a greater sense of gratitude.

Though small in stature, Thao possesses a remarkable life. When recounting her near-death experiences, she remains optimistic, occasionally smiling. From birth, Thao was unfortunate in her health: she was exposed to Agent Orange and suffers from osteogenesis imperfecta (brittle bone disease), confining her to a wheelchair. Her mother, Nguyen Thi Xuan, feared her daughter might suffer any impact that could affect her bones, so she prevented her from attending school. However, Thao persevered in her pursuit of literacy, teaching herself through self-study, and from that, the seeds of kindness within her gradually grew. Since 2009, she has run the "Co Ba" mini-library at her home, aiming to eradicate illiteracy for those who share her difficult circumstances and wish to learn. Since establishing the "Co Ba" mini-library, Thao has participated in numerous social and charitable activities, despite not being blessed with a healthy body.

I am grateful that I am still alive each day.

In the "Eastern Spirit" writing competition, Ms. Thao won third prize with her work " The Canal of Self-Reflection ." She wrote about the Eastern Canal in Cu Chi, her hometown. Today, appearing at the awards ceremony for the "Living Beautifully" competition, she once again spoke about Cu Chi: as long as she lives, she will continue to do charitable work for this place. She said: "No one is born into this world with the ability to choose their parents or siblings. Nor can anyone choose whether they are beautiful or ugly. I know there are still many people out there who are less fortunate than me. But I want to convey one message: choose a good attitude towards life when you don't have many choices."

Speaking about the future plans of the Co Ba mini-library, she said: "Every day I wake up and realize I'm still breathing, which is a great blessing. Therefore, as long as I'm alive, I will continue to do charitable work for the poor and disadvantaged students in and outside of my hometown of Cu Chi." Writer Dang Nguyen Dong Vy, a member of the judging panel, emotionally shared: "I am fortunate to be a judge in this competition. I am happy that the entries I love have won prizes, and the people I respect have been honored. I think the upcoming 'Living Beautifully' competition doesn't need to change much; the most important thing is authenticity, simplicity, and especially the widespread impact it creates. For example, the elderly farmers in the article 'The Elderly Farmers Who Judge Hearts by Heart,' everyone connects through activities, showing solidarity and mutual support. And that in itself is a valuable lesson."
