Báo Thanh niên•20/12/2024
Among the inspirational characters of 'Living Beautifully' season 4 - 'Sharing Love', which was just awarded on the morning of December 20 at the Thanh Nien Newspaper office (HCMC), the story of the character En Nho (real name: Huynh Thanh Thao, 38 years old) 'touched' the audience with her perseverance and efforts to live not only for herself but also for others.
One of the special parts of the 4th season of the Beautiful Living Awards Ceremony is to honor and listen to the sharing of the inspirational characters of the competition season. And the most touching sharing part comes from the character En Nho in the article Canh En Chua Mua Xuan by author Hoang Ngoc Thanh (won the encouragement prize in the category of Reportage, memoir, notes). Ms. Huynh Thanh Thao and Mr. Le Anh Tuan - the young man who has made more than 1,000 free ambulance trips in Thu Dau Mot City, Binh Duong Province over the past 5 years in the article "Dark Knight" in Thu Dau Mot by author Nguyen Duy Khanh (won the second prize in the category of Reportage, memoir, notes), are 2 of the characters sharing in this part.
Ms. Nguyen Pham Duy Trang, Secretary of the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, Chairman of the Central Council of the Young Pioneers and journalist Nguyen Ngoc Toan, Editor-in-Chief of Thanh Nien Newspaper presented flowers and awards to Ms. Huynh Thanh Thao.

Ms. Huynh Thanh Thao is a familiar face to Thanh Nien Newspaper. She won third prize in the Eastern Spirit Writing Contest organized by Thanh Nien Newspaper, and today continues to be the honored person of the Beautiful Life Contest season 4. In the article Canh Yen Chua Mua Xuan, author Hoang Ngoc Thanh recounts when Ms. Thao successfully organized a "Da Lat tour for people in the same situation on the occasion of Vietnam Disabled People's Day, April 18", a heart-stopping memory occurred when the volunteer carrying her while returning from the Da Lat tour tripped and fell. She fell down, the fall was thought to be fatal. She talked about her near-death accident with a very optimistic attitude: "I have faced death many times. A few days ago, my bones were cracked, but in the end, I was still here. That accident, I thought I would die. 99% of death. Blood gushed from my nose, from my mouth. My spine was broken. But miraculously, I lived. Many people say I am brave and lucky because I survived those times, but the two words brave I would like to reserve for my parents, who have always been by my side during the darkest hours of my life."
Ms. Huynh Thanh Thao confided that the near-death experiences helped her live more courageously and be more grateful.

Swallow is small but her life is not small. When sharing about her near-death experiences, Ms. Thao is very optimistic, smiling occasionally. Since birth, Ms. Thao has had unfortunate health conditions like many others: she was infected with Agent Orange, had brittle bone disease and had to use a wheelchair. Her mother, Ms. Nguyen Thi Xuan, was very afraid that her child would be hit by an accident because she feared it would affect her bones, so she did not let her go to school. But Ms. Thao still enthusiastically sought out letters, studied on her own, and from there, the seed of kindness in her gradually grew. From 2009 to now, the Co Ba mini library she founded at home aims to "eliminate illiteracy" for those who also want to find letters, and have difficult circumstances like her. Also from the time of establishing the Co Ba mini library, Ms. Thao participated in a series of social and volunteer activities even though God did not give her a healthy body like many others.
I am grateful every day I am alive
In the Eastern Spirit Writing Contest, Ms. Thao won third prize with her work Con kenh tu tinh . She wrote about the Eastern Canal in Cu Chi, her hometown. Today, when appearing at the award ceremony of the Beautiful Life Contest, she once again talked about Cu Chi: as long as she is alive, she will continue to do charity work for this place. She said: "No one is born into this world to choose their parents, siblings. No one is born to choose whether they are beautiful or ugly. I know that there are still many people out there who are less fortunate than me. But I want to convey one thing: choose a good attitude towards life when you don't have many choices."

She talked about the future plans of the Co Ba mini library: "Every day I open my eyes, I feel lucky to still be breathing. Therefore, as long as I am alive, I will continue to do charity work for the poor and students with difficult circumstances in and outside my hometown Cu Chi". Writer Dang Nguyen Dong Vy, a member of the jury, emotionally shared: "I am lucky to be a judge of the contest. I am happy that my favorite articles won prizes, and the characters I respect are honored. I think the upcoming Beautiful Living contest does not need to change much, the most important thing is the honesty, simplicity and especially the spread that the contest creates. For example, the old farmers in the article The old farmers "measure the heart with the heart" , everyone connects with each other through activities, showing solidarity and mutual support. And that is also a valuable lesson".
