Lieutenant Colonel Le Cong Danh - Commander of Regiment 5, personally handed out gifts to the people.

On the morning of July 26th, the atmosphere in Tan Hoa commune, a remote area of Tay Ninh province, suddenly became more vibrant and warm than usual. In the bright morning sun, the laughter of children and the joyful eyes of the elderly seemed to light up a festive day.

The grounds where the charity market was being held, organized by Regiment 5 in coordination with the local government and sponsoring units, were crowded with people from very early on.

The commander of the 5th Regiment, local leaders, and philanthropists pose for a commemorative photo at the market.

The market didn't have the usual goods for sale, but rather essential gifts carefully prepared by the officers and soldiers of the Regiment to be handed directly to people in difficult circumstances.

Over 300 gift packages containing rice, sugar, cooking oil, and other daily necessities were neatly arranged in each booth.

In particular, many products such as green squash and fresh gourds are grown by the officers and soldiers of the Regiment themselves in their production gardens, bearing the sweat, effort, and dedication of the soldiers.

For the officers and soldiers of Regiment 5, this is not only a civilian outreach activity, but also an opportunity to fully live out the ideal of the close bond between the military and the people.

Not only that, over 3,000 new notebooks were also donated to underprivileged students as encouragement and support for their future studies. Arriving early, Ms. Nguyen Thi Bay emotionally shared: “I walked over a kilometer to get here. Hearing that soldiers from Regiment 5 were coming to donate gifts, I was so happy.”

For the people here, the image of a soldier is not only associated with the duty of protecting the homeland but also represents a familiar source of support in their daily lives.

Local people happily received goods from the market.

For the officers and soldiers of Regiment 5, this is not just a civilian outreach activity, but also an opportunity to fully live out the ideal of the military and the people being inseparable. It is a place where they can gain practical experience, further hone their character and qualities, and more deeply understand the sacred meaning of wearing the military uniform in peacetime.

Lieutenant Colonel Le Cong Danh – Commander of Regiment 5, said: “This is both a responsibility and an honor for a soldier. These gifts may be small, but they represent the heartfelt sentiments of the officers and soldiers of the Regiment to the people. We always bear in mind: Wherever the people need us, the army is there. The army fights for the people and serves the people.”

Not only soldiers but also local youth union members joined hands to share love with the people.

"The 'Charity Market' is one of the key activities in the 2025 civilian outreach campaign of Regiment 5, organized in a systematic, practical manner and carrying profound humanitarian significance."

This activity not only spreads the spirit of sharing and community bonding, but also contributes to enhancing the image of Uncle Ho's soldiers in the hearts of the people – soldiers who are not only skilled with their weapons, but also steadfast in their loyalty to the people in all circumstances.
