This subject offers super promotional prices and attractive accompanying services to attract customers and requires a 100% advance transfer.
Trying to search on social networks, we found quite similar fanpages of Venada Lagoon Resort & Spa; the information and images are not much different and can easily confuse customers. Notably, the fake fanpage still has a very high number of likes and followers, and many posts are advertised to reach more Facebook users. If you do not know about the official fanpage, many people probably do not realize that it is a fake page.

According to the representative of the Department of Tourism, in recent times, the situation of fraud and property appropriation in the tourism sector, especially the form of fraud in booking rooms and booking tourism services online, has been increasing. Fraudulent activities on cyberspace related to the management field of the industry such as: False or misleading advertising about business capacity, ability to provide products, goods, services... causing many consequences, disrupting security, order and negatively affecting the image of the tourism industry.
Fraudsters set up fake websites and fanpages of reputable tourism service businesses with many tricks of discounts, fake promotions and requests for deposits in advance, to appropriate people's money, negatively affecting the image of Hue's tourism industry, causing public outrage.
A representative of the Department of Tourism said that although the authorities have repeatedly intervened to handle the situation, and at the same time stepped up propaganda and warnings, the tricks of the scammers are very sophisticated, while the psychology of a group of tourists wanting to find cheap services makes them easily trapped.
Be proactive
Director of the Department of Tourism Tran Thi Hoai Tram said that, in the face of increasing fraud in the tourism sector, the Department of Tourism has recently issued an official dispatch on preventing, stopping and handling fraudulent activities to appropriate assets on cyberspace in the tourism sector to tourism service businesses in the city, in order to continue to strengthen measures to prevent, stop and handle fraudulent acts, protect the legitimate rights of tourists and the reputation of the tourism industry, and raise the responsibility and awareness of tourism businesses as well as of people and tourists.

One of the top solutions that the Department of Tourism recommends that tourism agencies, units and businesses implement is to increase propaganda to tourists, tourism service businesses and people to understand new forms and tricks of fraud in the tourism sector; recommend that people carefully research information about tourism service providers in general and tourism accommodation establishments in particular before booking services and making payment transactions; and should only book services on official websites and fanpages of tourism service businesses provided by local tourism management agencies or through reputable service booking platforms.
In addition, the Department of Tourism also requested units to strengthen inspection and examination work, promptly detect and handle violations according to the provisions of law; promptly receive and resolve petitions and related feedback from citizens according to their authority; coordinate with competent authorities to regularly review and prevent fake websites and fanpages, and strictly handle subjects with fraudulent behavior.
In order to have official information to introduce to customers, the Department of Tourism requests agencies, units and enterprises to provide the Department with information of tourism service establishments registered for business in the area so that people and tourists can know and book services; at the same time, coordinate to fully update information of local tourism service establishments to the Department of Tourism for publication on the Department's Electronic Information page (https://sdl.hue.gov.vn).
According to the leaders of the Department of Tourism, the Department has also requested tourism service businesses in the city to raise their sense of responsibility in protecting customers; regularly review and promptly detect information platforms and social networking sites that impersonate their tourism service businesses; proactively coordinate with competent authorities to promptly resolve and handle related cases; do not spread or take advantage of false information about tourism service businesses to attract tourists' attention. Strengthen the application of security measures, prevent intrusion and counterfeiting; provide information on official websites, fanpages, and social networking platforms to the Department of Tourism to enhance the identification of official fanpages and websites and avoid being counterfeited.
In addition, businesses need to comply with legal regulations on prices, strictly comply with regulations on registration, price posting and selling at the listed price; not to allow arbitrary price increases, solicitation, and pressure on customers, which negatively affects the image of tourism; Detect, prevent and resolutely handle subjects that harass and cause trouble for tourists; arrange enough staff to guide and support tourists. Propaganda and improve the spirit of civilized tourism behavior, take visitors on schedule and on time, and ensure good service for tourists.
In addition to the responsibility of the State management agency for tourism, units and businesses also need to publicize the hotline number of the Hue city tourism industry (hotline: 0234.3828288) in a visible place of the unit, so that tourists can call when they need information or assistance.
The Department of Tourism leader said that the Department has assigned the Tourism Affairs Department to coordinate with the Department Office and relevant units to inspect the implementation.
