Recently, in Tuy Hoa City, the owners of some stores and pharmacies received calls from strange phone numbers, claiming to be market management officers, informing them that they would come to inspect their establishments or requesting information related to their establishments. However, after contacting the market management force, the owners of these establishments found out that this information was not available.
For example, the case of Ms. VTTT, owner of TT pharmacy (Thuong Phu village, Binh Kien commune, Tuy Hoa city). Ms. T received a phone call from a stranger. This person knew the land plot number, knew that she lived in Binh Kien commune but did not know her specific home address so he asked her to provide it. “This person said he was a market management officer, but when I asked for personal information and work agency, he spoke in a very strange way and then hung up. Previously, I had received information from officers of state management agencies in the area, so I could somewhat recognize which cases were real and which were fake. In this case, I suspected fraud so I contacted the Phu Yen market management force to verify,” said Ms. T.
Mr. Nguyen Quoc Phong, Captain of Market Management Team No. 2 (Phu Yen Market Management Department) informed: Recently, the unit received information from people in Tuy Hoa City, that there were some subjects claiming to be market management officers calling pharmacies and stores to inform them of the time to inspect the facility. We contacted each case, took those strange phone numbers and called them directly. There were cases where they picked up the phone, answered a few sentences and then hung up. After verification, these phone numbers were all spam numbers.
Mr. Nguyen Quoc Phong added: The inspection plan of the market management force is implemented in two forms, one is periodic inspection, the unit will send the plan to the facility; the other is surprise inspection, the unit will not notify in advance. There is absolutely no case of market management officers calling to inform when they will come to inspect the facilities. Therefore, when there is a case of calling to notify about the inspection activities of the market management force, people, business owners, and facilities must immediately report to the hotline number of the market management force (published on the website of the Phu Yen Market Management Department), or report to the nearest police agency or local authority for timely detection and handling. Facilities should also not provide personal information or facilities to strangers to avoid unfortunate cases of fraud.
