Bac Giang Police had to break the window and restrain the pickup truck driver when he repeatedly rammed into a special-purpose vehicle and refused to have his alcohol level measured.
At around 8:00 p.m. on December 31, while checking alcohol concentration on Hoang Hoa Tham Street (Bac Giang City, Bac Giang Province), the working group of the Traffic Police Team, Bac Giang City Police signaled to stop a pickup truck with a Hanoi license plate.
The driver did not stop but turned around and ran away, forcing the police to use a special vehicle to block the vehicle. The pickup truck then rammed the special vehicle multiple times and tried to reverse to escape, despite the police standing on both sides and behind the vehicle. The vehicle only stopped when the police mobilized a truck to block the vehicle's tail.

The police then broke the windshield on the driver's side to open the door and restrained the driver, measuring the alcohol concentration with the result of 0.595 mg/liter of breath. This person's name is Nguyen Thanh Tam, 39 years old, residing in Hoang Mai district, Hanoi.
The Investigation Police Agency of Bac Giang City Police has decided to temporarily detain Tam for the crime of Resisting a person on official duty under Article 330 of the Penal Code.
According to Decree 123/2021, the highest penalty for drivers with alcohol concentration exceeding 80 mg/100 ml of blood, or exceeding 0.4 mg/liter of breath is 30-40 million VND, with driver's license revocation for 22-24 months.
