Hoa Lien - Tuy Loan Expressway: Efforts to achieve progress

Urgent work on site

In the hot days of early summer, the construction site of the Hoa Lien - Tuy Loan Expressway is bustling. Convoys of vehicles transporting materials, groups of workers working hard, all are contributing to the completion of one of the key traffic projects in the Central region. The Hoa Lien - Tuy Loan Expressway is the final section connecting the La Son - Tuy Loan Expressway, playing an important role in completing the North - South traffic axis, while reducing traffic on National Highway 1A through the Central region. With a length of about 11.5km, the project started construction in mid-2023 and is entering the final stage. By mid-May 2025, the construction volume reached about 60%, of which the roadbed, box culverts and some small bridges were basically completed.

Mr. Ta Gia Manh Hung, Executive Director of the Hoa Lien - Tuy Loan Expressway Project, said that the main route of the project has completed site clearance, and only a few households are still stuck on the frontage road. Construction units are focusing on speeding up the progress, especially after Da Nang decided to adjust the capacity of the quarry. To ensure the technical route opening target on August 19, construction units have organized three continuous shifts, including holidays and weekends. Construction teams are arranged simultaneously along the entire route, focusing on bottlenecks such as the Tuy Loan intersection overpass, the residential underpass and the road surface foundation. Despite many difficulties in weather, complex mountainous terrain and some problems in site clearance, construction units still "overcome the sun and win the rain", proactively increasing human resources and equipment, applying modern construction technology to shorten the time while still ensuring the quality and safety of the project.

Prioritize all resources

The Ministry of Construction (formerly the Ministry of Transport) and the City People's Committee have repeatedly inspected the site, closely directed and requested relevant units to remove remaining obstacles. Regarding the source of materials, the city committed to prioritizing the granting of exploitation and transportation licenses to serve the project. At the same time, site clearance, a major bottleneck in the past, has been basically resolved, creating conditions for contractors to speed up construction. Contractors are mobilizing more than 500 officers, engineers, workers and hundreds of pieces of machinery and equipment to organize continuous construction in 3 shifts per day. Many important items such as overpasses, large box culverts, residential underpasses, etc. have entered the completion stage. The first layer of asphalt paving has been deployed in some sections and routes to stabilize the roadbed, etc.

With the drastic participation of the Ministry of Construction and the City People's Committee, the basic obstacles have been removed. On May 14, Deputy Minister of Construction Nguyen Viet Hung inspected the project; commended and acknowledged the efforts and implementation efforts of the investor, contractor, compensation and site clearance unit. The Deputy Minister noted that the project is entering the peak stage, preparing to reach the finish line, and the obstacles in site clearance and basic construction materials have been resolved by the local authorities. Therefore, in the coming time, the investor and contractors need to continue to promote the spirit of "overcoming the sun and overcoming the rain", "3 shifts and 4 shifts" to closely follow the progress, speed up construction, and at the same time strictly control the quality of the project, ensuring the goal of opening the main route on August 19, making achievements to celebrate the 80th anniversary of National Day and the 80th anniversary of the tradition of the transport sector. With the enthusiastic competitive spirit at the construction site, and consensus from the Central to the local level, the project is expected to be completed and opened on August 19, creating a strong boost for the Central region's transport infrastructure system in the coming time and opening up many opportunities for socio -economic development for the Central region, especially Da Nang city and neighboring provinces.

When completed, the Hoa Lien - Tuy Loan expressway will seamlessly connect the North - South expressways, creating conditions to promote socio-economic development in the Central provinces, especially Da Nang, Hue city and neighboring localities. The project contributes to reducing traffic pressure for the inner city of Da Nang and creating a new development corridor for the High-Tech Park and satellite urban areas in the west of the city.
