According to Business Tech , Cape Town has won the title seven times out of 11 since the awards began, in 2014, 2015/2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2023 and 2025. When it comes to the mix of cultures, cuisine and stunning landscapes, there are few places that can compare to Cape Town, the site said.
The Telegraph said Cape Town's consistency in ranking made it an easy choice, noting that few places in the world can match Cape Town's photogenic beauty, with areas such as Victoria & Alfred Waterfront, the beaches of Camps Bay and the Cape of Good Hope.
The British newspaper also highlighted the wine-growing regions east of the city, with fine wines in Stellenbosch and Franschhoek.
“Recognition like this doesn’t come by accident. It’s the result of hard work, smart thinking and a lot of passion from local people,” said James Vos, Cape Town’s Councillor for Economic Growth. “A focused marketing and destination management effort helps to promote the city’s unique experiences to the world.”
“Being voted the best city in the world by The Telegraph readers is proof that the strategy is working. We will continue to raise the bar, because the world is watching,” he added.
According to Lonely Planet , one of the best places to visit is the Sea Point promenade. Walking here is a favorite among Cape Town residents - a great place to observe the city's multiculturalism.
The beach is rocky and swimming is dangerous. You can also try the Sea Point Pavilion pool complex, located south of the coastal walk.

Also worth noting is the Bo-Kaap area, with its brightly painted low-roofed houses that are sure to make for some great photo ops.
Many of the houses are historic, lined along narrow cobblestone streets. This is one of the most photographed areas of the city. The most picturesque streets are Chiappini, Rose and Wale.
Dating back some 600 million years, Table Mountain is a canvas adorned with the rich diversity of the Cape floral kingdom. You can also admire the breathtaking beauty of Table Mountain National Park and one of the "New 7 Wonders of Nature".
