On May 31, in Hanoi, Sports and Culture Newspaper (Vietnam News Agency) held the 4th De Men Children's Awards ceremony - 2023.

The boy Hoang Nhat Quang (born 2012, Tay ethnic group) is a student of class 5A1, Lang Son city, the owner of about 40 completed paintings; many of which are very large, requiring standing on chairs and climbing ladders to complete, has been awarded the De Men Aspiration Award.

Regarding the paintings of Hoang Nhat Quang (11 years old), artist Thanh Chuong, a member of the Jury, was also surprised.

“Stunned, is the first feeling when looking at this series of paintings. The strokes are innocent and pure but have the maturity of the artist. I did not think he was so young. Evaluating him at present is only a small part, the main thing is to see his future development. With this young artist, his ability (talent) in creating shapes, imagination as well as working with large paintings, I think he will go very far. This is a case that I highly appreciate and I really like his series of paintings”, artist Thanh Chuong shared.

This year's organizing committee also awarded 3 Cricket Aspiration Awards to Mr. Ba Bi and the Dream Children (novel by Lac An, Kim Dong Publishing House); In a Place with Many Dragons (novel manuscript by Moc An); The Goose King in the Lake Hamlet (novel manuscript by writer Uong Trieu).

Two awards from the Jury were given to Nghe ó Hai Xoay (novel by Pham Anh Xuan, Literature Publishing House - Tan Viet Books); Me, my father, and… ; From the letters (manuscripts by Doan Lu Thuy Phuong, 10 years old).

Writer Tran Duc Tien was awarded the Cricket Knight Award.

Notably, after writer Nguyen Nhat Anh, this year, the organizing committee awarded the Grand Prize, the Cricket Knight Award, to writer Tran Duc Tien for his outstanding contributions to children throughout his career.

Writer Tran Duc Tien was born in 1953 in Ly Nhan district, Ha Nam province, currently living in Ba Ria - Vung Tau . He writes for both children and adults. Many of his works have been included in textbooks such as Dewdrops of the Night (Literature 6, volume 1, Creative Horizon series), Flying Fish Learns to Fly (Vietnamese 2, volume 2, Creative Horizon series), Little Friends in the House (Vietnamese 3, volume 1, Knowledge Connection series), Daisy Flower (Vietnamese 4, volume 2, Creative Horizon series), End of the Street Horizon (Vietnamese 4, volume 1, Knowledge Connection series)... Writer Tran Duc Tien's career in writing children's literature has been recognized with many major awards.

Doan Lu Thuy Phuong, 10 years old, was awarded the prize by the Jury.

Journalist Vu Viet Trang, General Director of Vietnam News Agency, affirmed the strong influence of the Award on all ages, both domestically and internationally. Many foreign authors have submitted works and won awards. This further demonstrates the great significance that the De Men Children's Award has brought to society, and especially the joy it brings to young readers who always want to explore and learn about the world around them.

This was a rich season, beyond expectations, with 7 awards and prizes given out, including 2 children's authors; and for the first time after 2 years of absence, the "Cricket Knight" was found.
