Cầu vượt sông dài nhất Việt Nam

The longest river bridge in Vietnam is built to connect the center of the capital with the northwestern provinces.

Specifically, Vinh Thinh Bridge crosses the Red River, connecting Son Tay Town (Hanoi) with Vinh Thinh Commune, Vinh Tuong District ( Vinh Phuc ), is the longest river-crossing bridge in Vietnam with a total length of 5.4 km (the bridge is 4.4 km and the approach roads at both ends are 1 km). The bridge is 16 m wide with four lanes.

Construction began in December 2011 and was completed in June 2014. Vinh Thinh Bridge connects two radial axes of National Highway 32 and National Highway 2, Noi Bai - Lao Cai Expressway, creating a complete transportation system, connecting the center of the capital with the northwestern provinces. This is also the bridge connecting the chain of satellite cities and high-tech zones of the capital.

Up to now, Vinh Thinh Bridge is the longest river crossing bridge in Vietnam. The bridge is permanently designed with reinforced concrete and prestressed reinforced concrete; has a length of 5,487m (of which the bridge is 4,480m long and the roads at both ends of the bridge are 1,007m long), the bridge surface is 16.5m wide with 4 lanes, designed speed of 80km/h; with a total investment of 137 million USD.

Vinh Thinh Bridge on National Highway 2C across the Red River is a traffic artery located on the 5th Ring Road in the Hanoi Capital Region. This is a ring road connecting satellite cities around the Hanoi city area, connecting the traffic network from the Northwestern provinces such as Lao Cai, Yen Bai, Ha Giang, Tuyen Quang with the provinces of Hoa Binh, Ha Nam , Thai Binh, Nam Dinh and vice versa, so it plays a very important role in reducing the traffic load for Hanoi's inner city and neighboring areas.

Accordingly, Vinh Thinh Bridge is very important because the bridge will connect satellite cities, high-tech zones, tourist destinations, contributing to promoting trade of goods between the Northwestern provinces with the capital Hanoi, the Northern Delta provinces and the whole country; thereby creating momentum for economic, cultural and social development and narrowing the development gap of the Northwestern region compared to the general level of the whole country.
