FPT CEO: We have student Truong Gia Binh, salary 50 million VND/month

Opening the program, Mr. Nguyen Van Khoa shared: “25 years ago, when we said we would export software, many people thought we had mental problems. They said we didn’t even have enough to eat, yet we were making software. Now, we continue to bet FPT ’s future on AI."

Mr. Khoa said that the thing that FPT people are most proud of is that Vietnam has a name on the world technology map. However, the biggest barrier in the technology industry today is human resources. Specifically, when FPT performs digital transformation work for ministries, branches, and localities, these customers all have problems with human resources. In particular, human resources in AI (artificial intelligence) and semiconductor microchips are extremely necessary.

Mr. Khoa stated that in the next 10 years, the market will need about 3 million technology engineers and FPT's goal is to contribute about 1 million engineers. Currently, the group is promoting training programs and expanding the scale of training at FPT schools and branches in provinces and cities.

In 2024, FPT University and College recruited nearly 2,000 first students to study semiconductor microchips. Thus, 2 years later, FPT will have its first employees. FPT's desire is that for every 10 students graduating, 3-4 will be technology students.

"Among the nearly 2,000 students studying semiconductor microchips, there is a student named Truong Gia Binh (the same name as the Chairman of FPT's Board of Directors). This student is very talented. Although he is only a first-year student, a Japanese company has already paid him a salary of 50 million VND/month. This shows that the market's demand for high-quality technology human resources is very large. FPT needs to make more efforts to meet the human resources for itself, for the country and for the world," said Mr. Khoa.

According to Mr. Khoa, in the recent speech of General Secretary To Lam , the General Secretary always emphasized the phrase "data is the new means of production". This is an extremely accurate assessment. The future of humans is data and the future of AI is also data.

Mr. Khoa shared that FPT students have been exposed to data since they were in middle and high school. With such long-term training strategies, Vietnam will have data experts who can contribute to FPT and the country.

FPT General Director assessed that currently, if only considering software export, Vietnam is only behind India. In terms of information technology services, Vietnam is still behind some countries. FPT's goal is to put Vietnam in the Top 3 in the world in information technology services.

Currently, India is a powerhouse in software exports and the information technology market. Experts have also discussed many times how to surpass India in information technology services, although Vietnam's population is only 1/10 of India's.

"I think there is another way, that is, 1 Vietnamese person must work as hard as 3 Indians to be able to surpass them. We need to increase labor productivity and increase quality," Mr. Khoa shared.

According to Mr. Khoa, in addition to training human resources for AI, FPT is also training technology human resources for the automobile industry. Specifically, regarding car control software, FPT is a partner of more than 150 car manufacturers in the world. Electric cars or gasoline cars can use car control software produced by FPT.

Regarding FPT Techday 2024, Mr. Khoa said that this technology forum will have a lot of information about new products and services. However, this information is being kept secret for now and will be announced on November 13-14.

It is known that FPT Techday is a place where the latest technology and business trends converge with the participation of thousands of experts, business leaders and technology enthusiasts.

FPT Corporation has just announced its business results for the first 9 months of 2024 with revenue reaching VND 45,241 billion, an increase of more than 19% over the same period in 2023. Profit before tax reached VND 8,111 billion, an increase of nearly 20% over the same period last year. Profit after tax increased by 21.5% to VND 5,762 billion.
In 2024, FPT plans to achieve record high business results with revenue of VND 61,850 billion (about USD 2.5 billion) and pre-tax profit of VND 10,875 billion, both up about 18% compared to the results achieved in 2023. With the results achieved after 9 months, FPT has achieved 73% of the revenue plan and 75% of the profit target.
