Caring for beneficiaries of social welfare programs.

Over the past period, through many practical actions and the joint efforts of the community, Phu Ninh district has provided support to social welfare beneficiaries to overcome difficulties and stabilize their lives.

Leaders of Phù Ninh district visited and presented gifts to Mr. Triệu Văn Kiều, a war invalid with 85% disability, residing in Zone 1, Hạ Giáp commune.

To ensure that social welfare beneficiaries receive timely and accurate care, the district directs communes and towns to proactively assess the living conditions of disadvantaged individuals in order to develop support plans. For social welfare beneficiaries who are still capable of working, local authorities will provide assistance to improve their lives, depending on the specific circumstances.

Since the beginning of the year, all levels and sectors of the district have consistently paid attention to and effectively implemented social welfare work, contributing to improving and gradually raising the living standards of policy beneficiaries in the area. Comrade Pham Quang Dang - Head of the Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs Department of the district, said: “In accordance with Government Decree 20/2023/ND-CP dated March 15, 2021, regulating social assistance policies for social welfare beneficiaries and other relevant legal documents, the district provides monthly social allowances to more than 4,400 social welfare beneficiaries. The assessment of disability levels and social assistance policies are implemented fully, promptly, and in accordance with regulations; the receipt and processing of applications are carried out through a one-stop mechanism, with clear record-keeping and no administrative procedures exceeding deadlines. The Department has reviewed and advised the District People's Committee to issue over 370 decisions on social welfare benefits for the elderly, people with severe and extremely severe disabilities, caregivers of people with extremely severe disabilities, poor single parents raising children, orphaned children, etc.”

The elderly are always a priority for Party committees and government authorities at all levels. The District Elderly Association's representative board, in coordination with the Elderly Associations' representative boards, People's Committees of communes and towns, and various departments and organizations, organized visits, gift-giving, and birthday celebrations for over 1,900 elderly people in the district. Simultaneously, they organized activities such as meetings, seminars, recreation, sports, and cultural events; creating favorable conditions for the Elderly Associations in communes and towns to operate and promote the role of the elderly in participating in Party and government building, socio-cultural movements, and sustainable poverty reduction in the locality. They also coordinated with relevant agencies and the People's Committees of communes and towns to successfully eliminate temporary housing for two policy beneficiary households with a total of 160 million VND, paid electricity bills for poor households, and provided emergency assistance to two families facing sudden difficulties.

To date, the work of caring for beneficiaries of social welfare programs has been well implemented by local Party committees, authorities, relevant departments, and communes and towns in the district. Beneficiaries of social welfare programs receive timely support when facing difficulties or hardships. In addition, the care for these beneficiaries has also received the joint efforts and contributions of philanthropists, organizations, and businesses. Along with the correct, complete, and timely implementation of policies, agencies, departments, mass organizations, and socio-political organizations in the district have been and continue to coordinate many practical activities to help beneficiaries have better lives, contributing to ensuring social security. With practical, effective, and comprehensive support activities, regular subsidies and healthcare have helped beneficiaries of social welfare programs gradually improve their lives and integrate into the community.
