Caring for and promoting the role of former youth volunteers in the new situation

On June 6, the Association of Former Youth Volunteers of Thai Nguyen province held a ceremony to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the Traditional Day of the Vietnam Youth Volunteer Force (July 15, 1950 - July 15, 2025), the 60th anniversary of the founding of the Youth Volunteer Team against the US to save the country, the 20th anniversary of the founding of the Association of Former Youth Volunteers of Thai Nguyen province; and commended typical examples in the period 2020-2025.

Attending the ceremony were comrades: Vu Trong Kim, Chairman of the Vietnam Association of Former Youth Volunteers; Duong Van Tien, Member of the Provincial Standing Committee, Chairman of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee; leaders of departments, branches, localities and nearly 200 outstanding former Youth Volunteers in the province.

75 years ago, on July 15, 1950, the first Central Youth Volunteer Team was established at Hong Mountain, Yen Lang Commune, Dai Tu District, Thai Nguyen Province, with 225 cadres and team members. The team successfully completed its mission serving the Border Campaign and received a letter of praise from Uncle Ho and a commendation from General Vo Nguyen Giap. This was also the event that opened the glorious journey of the Vietnamese Youth Volunteer Force.

Thai Nguyen province alone had over 65,000 Youth Volunteers participating in combat service, directly fighting and working in production on all battlefields. After the war, many former Youth Volunteers continued to promote the spirit of “Youth Volunteers not afraid of hardship”, actively contributing to the socio -economic development of the country and the province.

Over the past 20 years of establishment, the Provincial Youth Volunteers Association has helped 1,112 members escape poverty; implemented well the motto of "living to ask, sick to visit, longevity to celebrate, death to visit"; 100% of the association levels have operating funds; 300 members participate in local social work; many members have overcome difficulties to become good economic workers, contributing human and material resources to join hands in building new rural areas...

Chairman of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee Duong Van Tien spoke.

Comrade Duong Van Tien acknowledged and commended the outstanding achievements of the provincial Youth Union at all levels and former Youth Volunteers. He requested that all levels of the Union and its members increase their participation in Party and government building; monitor and criticize policies to protect the interests of members. The immediate task is to streamline the organizational structure, stabilize operations; at the same time, grasp the thoughts, receive recommendations and proposals from members to care for and promote the role of the Union in the new situation.

Leaders of the Provincial Association of Former Youth Volunteers commended outstanding collectives and individuals in the period 2020-2025.

On this occasion, the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee presented 75 gifts to 75 former Youth Volunteers in especially difficult circumstances. The Central Committee of the Youth Volunteers Association presented the "Vietnam Youth Volunteers" Medal to 51 comrades. The Provincial Youth Volunteers Association commended 60 typical and advanced collectives and individuals in the patriotic emulation movement for the period 2020-2025...
