Need more coordinated participation
Speaking at the event, Mr. Dang Van Dung, Deputy Chief of Office of the National Steering Committee 389, said that the situation of smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeit goods is becoming increasingly complicated, with a wide scope, many participants and sophisticated tricks.
According to Mr. Dung, the most affected products are health-related products such as cosmetics, functional foods and pharmaceuticals.

“That situation has negatively affected security and order, production and business activities of legitimate enterprises, especially the rights and health of consumers, causing confusion among the public,” said Mr. Dung.
Mr. Dung said that in order for the Anti-Fraud - User Protection program to be effective, more synchronous participation from media agencies, especially VTV, is needed to clearly reflect acts of smuggling, commercial fraud and counterfeit goods.
At the same time, it is necessary to enhance the responsibility of officials, civil servants and people; organize regular inspection teams; disseminate fraudulent tricks and false advertising to raise consumer vigilance. Propagating the results of handling violations also contributes to creating consensus and support from society, increasing deterrence and prevention.
The program's mission is not only to protect consumers, but also to improve business ethics, encourage transparent production and business models, and increase trust in honest businesses. Mr. Do Thanh Hai, Deputy General Director of Vietnam Television, said that besides reflecting negative issues, the press also has a role in guiding and contributing to institution building and implementing social criticism.
The Deputy General Director of Vietnam Television affirmed that the Anti-Fraud - Consumer Protection program will be maintained regularly to carry out this task in the long term.
“VTV will work with functional units, ministries, departments and branches under the direction of the Government to achieve the goal of restoring people's trust in a safe consumer environment and eliminating smuggled and poor quality products,” Mr. Hai stated.
As a companion, Mr. Vu Van Thanh, General Director of Hoa Sen Home , said that he does not feel alone in this battle, because he believes that with the participation of media agencies and businesses, it is possible to build a fair and healthy competitive market.

Mr. Nguyen Hoang Long, Deputy Head of the Special Topics - Science and Education Department, Vietnam Television, said the program is implemented in two parts: Anti-fraud and Consumer Protection .
The Anti-Fraud Section will coordinate with relevant authorities and financial units to update the situation of combating and preventing violations. The Consumer Protection Section has the participation of businesses, citizens, associations, press agencies and management agencies, to reflect issues related to counterfeit and poor quality goods.
According to Mr. Long, in addition to reflecting the phenomenon, the program's implementation team also researches the nature of the problem, coordinates adjustments in market management, and conveys information to help consumers understand their rights, as well as how to defend themselves when they are violated.
