Like Chinese music, watch movies without subtitles

Hong Tinh Khoi (first-year student, Chinese Language major) is the valedictorian of Nguyen Tat Thanh University based on the national high school exam scores, with a total score of 27.75 points for block C00 (Literature 9, History 9.25, Geography 9.5).

Coming from Tran Van On High School ( Binh Duong province), Khoi chose to study block C because he realized he had the ability to learn lessons quickly, this is also his strength.

“I chose the Chinese Language major at Nguyen Tat Thanh University through the introduction of seniors. I think it will be easy to find a job in this major in the future. I also like watching Chinese movies without subtitles and especially I really like singing Chinese songs,” the valedictorian shared the reason for choosing the major.

Khoi added that before that, he had never studied Chinese but only learned it through listening to music. Good music gradually made him love it and music was a great source of inspiration for Khoi to decide to pursue learning this language.

When he received the news that he had become the valedictorian of the whole school, Khoi was surprised and happy. Khoi shared that he did not think he could achieve such a high result, it was the result of his continuous efforts. Khoi's joy was doubled when this success was not only a milestone in his learning process but also opened the door to his dream of studying the major he desired.

At the opening ceremony of Nguyen Tat Thanh University, the school honored the new valedictorian Hong Tinh Khoi, awarded a 100% scholarship for the first year's tuition along with a certificate of merit from the Board of Directors.

Reveal the secret

“I reviewed my textbooks carefully, read a lot and grasped the knowledge. I also focused on solving previous years’ questions and mock exams from other provinces to gain experience for myself,” the valedictorian shared his secret to getting high scores.

Khoi also emphasized that a relaxed spirit and stable health are important keys to help him confidently enter the big exam. According to Khoi, keeping himself in a relaxed state, avoiding excessive stress, and maintaining a reasonable diet and rest regimen helped him achieve the best learning and test performance during the exam.

Besides the care and support of his parents, Khoi was lucky to have a soulmate who accompanied him throughout his high school years. That friend studied with Khoi, guided, encouraged him and was by his side during special exams.

In the new environment, the top student of Block C admitted that he is a sociable and friendly person, so he can easily talk to friends and exchange with lecturers. However, the biggest difficulty for him now is approaching a new language he has never learned before.

Talking about future plans, Hong Tinh Khoi aims to become the valedictorian of the graduating class. Khoi said that in the near future, he will continue to take extra tutoring to improve his knowledge, be serious about his studies and actively participate in school activities. Thereby, he will improve his relationships and develop himself. At the same time, Tinh Khoi also considers working part-time in his free time to help his parents financially.

The program "Honoring Valedictorians" was organized by the Ho Chi Minh City Vietnamese Student Association and the Ho Chi Minh City Student Support Center. In 2024, the Organizing Committee selected and honored 88 valedictorians. Of which, 43 valedictorians were admitted to Universities, Colleges, Academies, and Junior Colleges with excellent academic achievements, all achieving admission scores of 26 points or higher (24 points or higher for junior college students).
