Evening of August 2, final round of ranking competition The first broadcast of traditional singing in Con Dao Special Zone in 2025 will take place at the stage of the Center for Culture, Information, Sports and Tourism in Con Dao Special Zone.

Mr. Nguyen Van Manh - Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Con Dao Special Zone, head of the contest organizing committee - said that the final night featured the competition of 10 excellent contestants selected from 100 people who registered to compete through the rounds.
Contestants come from Ca Mau, An Giang , Dong Thap, Vinh Long, Can Tho, Dong Nai, Tay Ninh, Ho Chi Minh City and Con Dao special zone.
The judges for the final night included artist Phuong Loan (head of the jury), Le Tu, Ha Nhu and composer Truong Van Ut.
In this round, contestants sing a complete vọng cổ or tân cổ giao duyên song of their choice. The organizers allow them to sing again songs from the preliminary or semi-final round.
The jury selected 1 first prize, 2 second prizes, 3 third prizes, 4 fourth prizes and 6 consolation prizes.
In addition, the organizing committee also awarded 15 additional prizes such as: The oldest contestant was awarded to Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Chieu, 77 years old, from Can Tho city; the youngest contestant award went to Duong Thi Thao My and Nguyen Ngoc Nhu Phuc, both 12 years old from Can Tho; promising contestant; impressive contestant, contestant who sang best about Con Dao...
The first prize was awarded to Vuong Quan Tri from An Giang. The second prizes were awarded to Dang Hong Truc and Tran Van Khiem.
The organizers awarded three third prizes to Le Thi Ha Nhu, Nguyen Phan Minh Nguyet and Nguyen Minh Tri.

Useful playground for lovers of vọng cổ
The head of the contest organizing committee commented that the contestants had invested, practiced, and prepared quite carefully in terms of the content of the vọng cổ song and performance skills.
“However, there are still certain limitations such as: many contestants have not attended singing classes, choosing songs that are not suitable for their voices, uncertain rhythm leading to lack of inspiration... but above all, it creates a healthy, useful playground, artistic exchange between Con Dao and people who love vọng cổ from the mainland” - Mr. Nguyen Van Manh added.

Vuong Quan Tri (16 years old, from An Giang) shared with Tuoi Tre Online that he was very happy to receive first prize in the contest because he initially participated with the purpose of exchanging and satisfying his passion.
Through the contest, Quan Tri wants to spread the love of vọng cổ to his peers, those who love cải lương, and affirm that cải lương will always exist.
“I have known about Cai Luong since grade 1. When I was in grade 6, my aunt found me a teacher to guide me, to further develop my love for Cai Luong. After graduating from high school, I will register my wish to enter the University of Theater and Cinema in Ho Chi Minh City to continue pursuing Cai Luong” - Vuong Quan Tri confided.
Previously, Vuong Quan Tri competed in the 2024 Talented Artist contest on Dong Thap Television and won the championship title.
He is currently participating in two prestigious cai luong competitions: Golden Bell of Traditional Opera 2025 and Golden Rice Award 2025 .
