Nghe An mobilized more than 300 people to control forest fire in Tan Chau commune.

According to initial information from the Forestry Department, at around 5:00 p.m. on August 3, a forest fire broke out in hamlet 2, Tan Chau commune (Dien Phu commune, old Dien Chau district).

Immediately after discovering the forest fire in Hamlet 2, Tan Chau Commune, the local authorities mobilized local forces and mobilized other communes such as Minh Chau, Duc Chau, and An Chau to fight the fire. Nghe An Forest Protection Department urgently mobilized forces from Do Luong Forest Protection Departments and mobile forest protection teams to deploy fire fighting plans. The local authorities of Tan Chau Commune also quickly took action, closely coordinating with functional forces.

In total, more than 300 people were mobilized to fight the fire, including forest rangers, commune police, militia, mass organizations and local people. The forces were divided into groups, approaching the scene from many directions to control the fire and prevent it from spreading to neighboring forest areas.

Mr. Nguyen Quoc Minh - Head of the Department of Forest Protection and Nature Conservation (Nghe An Provincial Forest Protection Department) said that at accessible locations, the authorities quickly cordoned off the area and opened firebreaks to prevent the fire from spreading. Thanks to the timely implementation of response measures, the fire has now been basically controlled.

However, due to the difficult terrain of the fire area, mainly high mountains, combined with strong winds and darkness, the firefighting work encountered many difficulties. Currently, the forces are continuing to build firebreaks in areas at risk of spreading, and at the same time assigning people to be on duty 24/7 to monitor, handle ashes, and prevent the forest fire from spreading to other areas.
