Previously, at about 2:00 a.m. the same day, when the entire family of Mr. Rcam Ngai (born in 1975, residing in Ia Rnho village, Phu Tuc commune, Gia Lai province) of 4 people were sleeping in the house, a fire suddenly broke out in the kitchen area and quickly spread.

As soon as the fire was discovered, Mr. Rcam Ngai's family shouted to put out the fire and called for support from the villagers. Phu Tuc Commune Police also mobilized the Inter-family Fire Prevention and Fighting Team, the Ia Rnho Hamlet Security and Order Protection Team, and the villagers to use hand-held fire extinguishers and water to put out the fire.

However, at the time of the fire, there was a strong wind, dry weather, the stilt house was made of wood, containing many flammable materials, so in a short time, the fire quickly spread, engulfing the entire house. The family only had time to move 1 motorbike and 1 tractor out.

By 3am the same day, the forces had controlled the fire, preventing it from spreading to neighboring houses. At the scene, the entire stilt house of Mr. Rcam Ngai, with an area of over 170m2, along with many valuable belongings and properties, was burned down. The preliminary estimate of the family's damage from the fire was about 400 million VND.

The initial cause of the fire was determined by authorities to be an electrical short circuit in the kitchen area of Mr. Rcam Ngai's family.

This morning, the local authorities visited and encouraged the family; the police force, the commune militia and the villagers came to help Mr. Rcam Ngai's family clean up and collect the remaining belongings. The Phu Tuc commune police gave 2 million VND in support to help the family overcome the immediate difficulties.

“The locality is balancing the budget, planning to support the family whose house burned down with about 40 million VND and is calling for other resources to support and help the family rebuild their house and stabilize their lives,” Mr. Thao added.
