(Dan Tri) - Each dragon fruit pot shaped like a coiled dragon costs 1.2-1.4 million VND. The owner sold out half of the imported pots when they first "launched".
Along with peach, kumquat, apricot, chrysanthemum..., the Tet flower market in Nghe An has seen the appearance of dragon fruit pots. According to Mr. Le Duy Ha (residing in Vinh city, Nghe An), these dragon fruit pots were imported from the South to serve customers during the Lunar New Year of Giap Thin. Each dragon fruit pot consists of 5-6 grafted plants with the fruit facing outwards. The dragon fruit is shaped in a spiral from bottom to top, looking like a dragon "descending" to welcome the Year of the Dragon. Dragon fruit pot viewed from above. The red ripe dragon fruit form a circle that gradually grows larger towards the end, suggesting fullness and fulfillment for the new year. Mr. Le Duy Ha said he imported more than 100 dragon fruit pots to sell to serve customers during Tet. In just 4 days, half of the dragon fruit pots were sold to customers.
According to the seller, each pot of dragon fruit has 19 fruits, surrounding the tree trunk like the shape of a dragon. The number 19 also symbolizes longevity, luck, prosperity, and radiant halo... as everyone wishes at the beginning of the year. Each dragon-shaped dragon fruit pot is sold for 1.2-1.4 million VND, depending on the size. Mr. Tran Huu Duy (living in Vinh city) said: "I see dragon fruit pots shaped like dragons, suitable for display in the house during the Lunar New Year of the Dragon. The red color of the dragon fruit suggests luck and abundance, the green color is the hope for a new year with many good things." Besides a peach blossom branch, Mr. Duy decided to buy another dragon-shaped dragon fruit pot, instead of buying a chrysanthemum pot like previous years. The bright red, round, close-packed dragon fruits evoke the wish for a new year of abundance and prosperity... Gardeners use cycad branches and leaves to create the shape of a dragon's tail. With a not too high price, after the Tet display period, it can be planted, the dragon fruit ripens naturally to eat gradually... so the dragon fruit bonsai pot is quite attractive to customers.
