Fire breaks out in two high-rise buildings in the center of Ho Chi Minh City, red flames engulf the facade

The facade of two five-story houses at Ly Thai To intersection, Ho Chi Minh City, caught fire. The red flames and billowing smoke caused panic among residents in the city center.

The fire broke out at 8:30 p.m. on July 11 at the Ly Thai To intersection, Vuon Lai ward, Ho Chi Minh City.

At that time, people heard an explosion, then discovered the facade of the food and fast food business building at Ly Thai To roundabout and the pawn shop next to it were on fire, with black smoke billowing.

According to witnesses, at the time of the fire, many people inside the two houses panicked and fled, creating a chaotic scene. Local forces mobilized many mini fire extinguishers to approach and put out the fire but were unsuccessful.

The front of 2 houses was burned and severely damaged.

Ho Chi Minh City Police Department's fire prevention and rescue force mobilized many fire trucks and more than 30 soldiers to the scene.

The police divided into many groups to approach, pull water hoses to put out the fire and prevent it from spreading.

After about 15 minutes, the fire was extinguished.
