At around 4 p.m., a group of workers discovered smoke and fire in a sawdust and plywood processing workshop in Vam Hamlet, Thien Tan Commune, and immediately called for help to put out the fire. Due to the flammable materials, the fire quickly engulfed the workshop, with a column of smoke tens of meters high billowing into the residential area, forcing many people to evacuate.
Dong Nai Fire Police dispatched 8 specialized vehicles and nearly 50 soldiers to the scene. Some soldiers used water hoses to put out the fire, while the rest pumped water behind the factory to prevent the fire from spreading to neighboring companies and residential areas. The fire broke out in strong winds, making rescue operations difficult.

By 7 p.m., the fire was basically under control, but the heat was still smoldering in the piles of goods, and water continued to be pumped in to completely extinguish it. The fire did not cause any human casualties, but burned down almost the entire factory.
