According to the Phu Yen Statistics Office, the consumer price index (CPI) of Phu Yen province in October 2023 continued its upward trend, with an increase of 0.2% over the previous month. 6/11 groups of goods and services had price indexes increase, but the main increase was in 2 groups.
The food and catering services group increased by 0.49%; of which, food increased by 2.08% due to a 2.77% increase in rice prices, food increased by 0.4% in some items due to seasonal and weather factors, causing the overall CPI to increase by 0.16%. The housing, electricity, water, fuel and construction materials group increased by 0.91%, causing the overall CPI to increase by 0.15%, mainly due to a 4.69% increase in gas prices, and a 1.21-2.62% increase in housing maintenance materials prices. Among the groups with decreasing indexes, the group with the largest decrease was the transportation group, down 1.39% mainly due to the impact of domestic gasoline and oil price adjustments.
CPI in October 2023 increased by 1.55% over the same period last year, up 0.72% over December last year. Average CPI in the first 10 months of 2023 increased by 4.22% over the same period last year.
Also according to the General Statistics Office, the average price of 99.99 gold in October 2023 was VND 5,717 million/tael, up 0.55% over the previous month, up 9.84% over the same month last year, up 6.56% over December last year and up 46.85% over the base period of 2019. The average US dollar price in the month was VND 24,568/USD, up 1.19% over the previous month, up 1.96% over the same month last year, up 1.56% over December last year and up 5.52% over the base period of 2019.
