Admire the unique works of art about President Ho Chi Minh

The exhibition “ Ho Chi Minh in the visual arts” officially opened at the Vietnam Fine Arts Museum on May 16 and will last until May 30. This is a practical activity to celebrate the 135th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh’s birthday (May 19, 1890 – May 19, 2025).

The exhibition introduces 60 works selected from a collection of hundreds of works by Vietnamese and foreign painters, sculptors, and artisans about President Ho Chi Minh, including different genres and materials such as: painting, graphics, sculpture, embroidery, paper carving, and statues by folk artisans.

The works displayed in this exhibition depict important milestones in the life and revolutionary career of President Ho Chi Minh. From his youth, through the years of wandering in search of a way to save the country, he returned to the country and directly led the Vietnamese revolution to success.

Typical works include: Uncle Hoong studying at enlightenment by artist Van Giao, Uncle Ho's spring returns to Pac Bo by artist Duong Tuan, Uncle Ho reading the Declaration by artist Nguyen Duong... In addition, in the works of visual arts, "golden hand" artisans such as Song Hy and Vu Duc Trong have realistically portrayed the image of Uncle Ho through magical embroidery paintings. Not only domestic artists, but international artists also have special affection for President Ho Chi Minh through works that successfully depict the portrait of President Ho Chi Minh such as David Thomas (USA), Lee Sang Phil (Korea).

Sharing about the Exhibition, Chairman of the Vietnam Fine Arts Association, painter Luong Xuan Doan said: The exhibition "Ho Chi Minh in visual arts" held on this occasion is a very meaningful activity, this is considered a priceless gift that the Vietnam Fine Arts Museum, painters and artists dedicate to Uncle Ho. It can be said that, up to now, the topic of President Ho Chi Minh has always been an endless source of inspiration for painters and artists. The works displayed here will have great significance in propagating to the people in the country, friends around the world to know and understand the person, career of President Ho Chi Minh and the Vietnamese revolution.

The exhibition "Ho Chi Minh in the visual arts" is not only a tribute and deep gratitude to the great contributions of President Ho Chi Minh, the national liberation hero and outstanding cultural figure, but also a valuable opportunity for the public at home and abroad to understand more about his great life and career.
