In Siversk, the geographical location shows that the Russian army has taken control of the eastern part of Hryhorivka. Russian soldiers have been recorded in the western village of Serebrianka, the Military Summary channel reported.
However, regarding the Siversk front, Russian blogger Rybar published a report in which he stated that the latest successes of the Russian side need to be verified.
Accordingly, the Russian army is said to have left Hryhorivka after raising the flag and the villages of Viemka and Verkhnokamianske are also said to be under the control of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU). However, despite the conflicting information, most experts agree that the Russian army has made great progress.

On the Toretsk front, Russian troops have broken through enemy defenses. Russian assault units have almost completely captured the Sabalka district. Russian troops are present in the center of Toretsk and are approaching the mine.
In the Pokrovsk direction, Russian attacks on Kurakhove continue. Ukrainian sources confirm that the Russians have gained a foothold on the eastern edge of the village of Novoselydivka, while the settlement of Hyrnik is gradually being surrounded.
Readovka confirmed that after a long period of attacking Zabalka, the Russian side has basically taken control of this settlement and created a springboard to finish off Toretsk. Meanwhile, the AFU is retreating, but is still trying to hold the Tsentralnaya mine dump to block the rear and prevent the possibility of being surrounded. However, whether this goal is achieved or not depends on the Russian advance.
In addition, there are reports from the Kursk region that Russian troops have recaptured two settlements. However, the information needs to be verified.
Siversk in sight
According to Rybar channel, the Russian army carried out a series of attacks on enemy targets on Ukrainian territory, including port infrastructure in the Odessa region, a machine-building plant in Kramatorsk and an air defense missile site southwest of Dnipro.
Meanwhile, Kiev launched another wave of UAV attacks on Russian regions. The largest attack was in the Bryansk region, with the main target being the Russian Defense Ministry ’s 67th arsenal near the city of Karachev.
On the Kursk front, the Russians repelled enemy attacks near Lyubimovka in the Korenevo district. There are also reports of Russian control over the village of Pokrovsky, but these need to be verified with photos and information.
In the direction of Siversk, the front line has not changed much, but the Russian side is dominating the game with attacks that can be directed at any time towards Hryhorivka, Bilohorivka and Vyimka.
On the Oleksandrivka - Kalinovo axis, Russian troops are attacking the AFU defenses in Toretsk (Dzerzhynsk).
AFU raids UAVs on Russian territory
On the night of October 10, the AFU shot down nearly 100 drones across Russia.
According to information from the Telegram page of the Russian Ministry of Defense, most of the drones were intercepted over the Krasnodar Territory (47) and the Sea of Azov (15). Another 12 drones were shot down over the Kursk region, nine over the Rostov region, four over the Bryansk region, two over the Belgorod region, one each over the Crimea and the Voronezh region.
The Defense Ministry called Ukraine's actions an attempt to carry out a terrorist attack on targets on Russian territory.
Earlier, on the night of October 9, Ukraine also launched dozens of drones into Russian territory. In total, Russian air defense systems shot down 47 drones in just one night. 24 drones were intercepted over the Bryansk region, 13 over the Sea of Azov, 5 over the Belgorod region, 2 over the Kursk and Rostov regions, and 1 over the Krasnodar region.
Ukraine prepares for cold winter 2024
Ukraine currently has more than 10 billion cubic meters of gas in underground storage facilities. This is not enough. In the previous winter, they entered the heating season with about 17-18 billion cubic meters. But now it is difficult to say how small this level is for them, how serious this problem is in the summer because we do not know the exact gas consumption in Ukraine,” said Igor Yushkov, a leading analyst at the National Energy Security Fund (NESF) and an expert at the Russian Financial University.
According to the analyst, part of the Ukrainian industry has stopped in 2022 and many companies are leaving. He also noted that some territories are under Russian control.
“Many thermal power plants have been destroyed or damaged since 2022. So their consumption has decreased, but so have the gas reserves in underground gas storage facilities. Both have decreased, perhaps they are at a balance,” Mr. Yushkov added.
“The worst thing for them is if a cold winter comes, because there will be no electricity and they will also consume gas at a dizzying rate. But due to the reduced consumption, they will more or less get through the heating season normally,” forecasts expert Igor Yushkov.
At the same time, Yushkov said, there is still a threat to the heating season in Ukraine.
“If they really cut off the transit of Russian gas, they will have to reconfigure the operation of their entire gas transport system in the middle of winter. Without transit, they will have to pump gas from western Ukraine through gas pipelines in the opposite direction to the east. The pipeline has never operated from west to east like this in history. It was built and always operated from east to west. So there will be risks in terms of heating and energy supply,” the Russian analyst concluded.
Earlier, the Russian military attacked Ukrainian energy facilities. The Russian Defense Ministry stated that it had attacked facilities supplying fuel and lubricants to the AFU, but did not provide information about the locations of the attacks.
