To implement the content of local education, recently, the Ministry of Education and Training (MOET) has issued and coordinated the issuance of a system of documents directing the implementation of guidelines for compiling and appraising documents, guiding the organization of teaching and learning local education documents, organizing the publication and distribution of documents, consulting, guiding, and urging the approval of local education documents.

At the end of the 2018 General Education Program implementation cycle, Ca Mau province has completed the compilation of the GED content documents from grades 1 to 12, approved by the Ministry of Education and Training. However, the province has not yet printed the documents into books to serve teaching and learning. Teaching and learning of GED content in the past at schools were mainly done in pdf files. When merging Ca Mau and Bac Lieu provinces, the GED documents will be edited to suit the new administrative boundaries; because the geographical location, area, natural conditions, economy, society... change, the cultural space, traditional history expands.

Dr. Le Hoang Du, Deputy Director of the Department of Education and Training of Ca Mau, said: “In order to implement the directive of the Ministry of Education and Training, the Department will first conduct a review to select the contents and topics in the local education documents of the two provinces: Bac Lieu and Ca Mau (old) that have been approved by the Ministry of Education and Training to organize teaching in the 2025-2026 school year in all educational institutions of Ca Mau province (new). The selection of teaching contents must ensure that they are suitable for the characteristics of the province after the merger and the requirements of the 2018 General Education Program.

At the same time, the Department is advising the People's Committee to complete the Board of Compilation of Education Documents for all levels. Based on the issued sets of documents, the Department will develop content frameworks for all levels and classes of the new administrative units, and adjust education documents to be consistent with the developed content framework and use them for teaching in the following school years.

With innovative, creative and practical methods, the content of Local Education has been and is being taught by schools, bringing practical results. This subject not only helps students access practical knowledge, linked to the locality where they live, but also creates connections with extensive knowledge about the history - culture, economy - society of the country, forming and nurturing love, pride and attachment to the homeland. Thereby, students are aware of their roles and responsibilities, ready to participate in protecting, preserving and promoting the cultural values, traditions and strengths of their homeland; applying the knowledge and skills they have learned to contribute to solving local problems; adapting to social life and career orientation. This is also a good solution to educate traditions and foster revolutionary ideals for young people right from when they are still in school.

In the 2025-2026 school year, localities will continue to use the GDDP documents approved by the Ministry of Education and Training, with appropriate additions and adjustments after the province's merger. The development of the GDDP document set according to the new administrative unit will be carried out under the direction of the Provincial People's Committee, and will be used from the 2026-2027 school year.
