VietnamPlusVietnamPlus07/01/2025

From March 30, IELTS in Vietnam will be completely switched to computer-based testing. Candidates who registered for the paper-based test before this date can choose to take the test early on paper or on computer.

On January 7, the British Council and IDP Vietnam - two units licensed to organize the IELTS international language certificate exam in Vietnam - jointly announced that IELTS exams in Vietnam will switch to computer-based exams after March 29.

Accordingly, from March 30, the IELTS exam in Vietnam will completely switch to computer-based testing. This change is made with the aim of providing a faster, more efficient and more convenient testing experience for candidates while still maintaining the quality and global reliability of the IELTS exam.

The two test organizers assessed that the computer-based test format has many outstanding benefits such as flexible test schedules. Candidates can register for the test just 1-2 days before the test and take the test on any day of the week, helping candidates easily arrange a suitable time.

This form also brings quick results as in just about 2 days, candidates will receive the results, helping to save waiting time and provide timely support for study, work, and settlement plans.

Computer-delivered testing also facilitates retaking of individual skills (One Skill Retake). Candidates can retake any of the four skills Listening, Speaking, Reading, or Writing to improve their score. This helps candidates reduce costs and time compared to retaking the entire test. One Skill Retake is only available for IELTS on computer.

The computer-based test is designed to be simple, ensuring easy operation, helping candidates focus fully on the test, in order to achieve maximum efficiency. The test maintains the same standards, the computer-based test format will be exactly the same as the paper-based test in all 4 skills (Listening, Speaking, Reading, Writing) of the test, ensuring fairness and international standards.

20 certificates exempted from Foreign Language exam for High School Graduation 2025

In the list of certificates exempted from the Foreign Language exam, there are 12 English certificates, the rest are certificates in Russian, French, German, Japanese and Chinese.

Computer-based testing is also in line with the popularity of today's technology, creating a more professional testing environment.

Candidates who have registered for the paper-based IELTS test after March 29 will be contacted by the test center to inform them of alternative options. Detailed instructions will be provided to ensure the best preparation and rights of candidates. Candidates will be given the option of one of the following options: free conversion to the computer-based IELTS test; free conversion to a paper-based IELTS test date before or on March 29 or a full refund of the test fee./.
