Officially launched the first electric taxi company in Vietnam

On April 14, in Hanoi , the opening ceremony of the first electric taxi company in Vietnam took place.

The first electric taxi service in Vietnam is provided by Green and Smart Mobility Joint Stock Company (GSM) under the name of SM Green Taxi. According to the plan, SM Green Taxi will first appear in Hanoi, then expand to at least 5 provinces and cities across the country this year.

At the opening ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Manh Quyen - Vice Chairman of Hanoi People's Committee said: Electric taxi is one of the advanced solutions, bringing many benefits to the community, contributing to reducing air pollution and noise, while saving energy and reducing costs for users. The implementation of electric taxi service in Hanoi not only affirms the determination of the City and the response and cooperation of businesses, specifically GSM Company in promoting sustainable transport development; but also contributes to implementing Vietnam's commitment to reducing greenhouse gas emissions.

Sharing about the birth of the electric taxi this time, Mr. Nguyen Van Thanh - General Director of GSM Company said: "GSM in general and SM Green Taxi in particular were born to respond to the national goal of climate change, including efforts to reduce emissions from means of transport. SM Green Taxi brings new transportation options with different service quality, not only serving people but also aiming to connect and form a green - smart mobility ecosystem throughout Vietnam".

SM Green Taxi is the first pure electric taxi company in Vietnam, providing passenger transport services entirely by VinFast electric vehicles. This is a generation of taxis that have no smell of gasoline, no engine noise, are good for the health of users and protect the environment, and are equipped with many smart entertainment features, helping passengers have an enjoyable experience on every journey.

Accordingly, from April 14, customers can easily book a Green SM taxi via the national hotline number 19002088 like a traditional taxi or via the Green SM Taxi application on the App Store and Google Play Store like other technology car companies.

Customers can also hail a taxi directly at all Vincom Shopping Centers, public places in the city or directly hail a taxi on the street. In May 2023, customers can call SM Green Taxi via the BeVinFast service on the multi-service consumer platform Be.

In addition to convenient and diverse vehicle access, Xanh SM also offers customers two service options: GreenCar - standard taxi and LuxuryCar - luxury taxi. GreenCar uses VinFast VF e34 with the signature Cyan blue color, while LuxuryCar uses VinFast VF 8 with the original luxurious paint color.

In the first phase, SM Green Taxi will operate 500 VF e34 cars and 100 VF 8 cars in Hanoi. In the coming time, the company will add the VinFast VF 5 Plus model to the GreenCar fleet, and based on actual customer demand, increase the number of cars serving both service segments.

The opening price for the first kilometer of the GreenCar service is 20,000 VND. For the next 24 kilometers, the fare for the VF 5 Plus is 14,000 VND/km, for the VF e34 is 15,500 VND/km. From the 26th kilometer onwards, the fare is 12,000 VND/km for the VF 5 Plus and 12,500 VND/km for the VF e34. The price for the LuxuryCar service is fixed at 21,000 VND/km for the entire journey./.
