At the reception, on behalf of the State and people of Vietnam, President Vo Van Thuong warmly welcomed Chairman Vyacheslav Vichtorovich Volodin and senior members of the State Duma of the Russian Federation on an official visit to Vietnam and co-chaired the 2nd meeting of the Vietnam - Russian Federation Inter-Parliamentary Cooperation Committee.
Appreciating the visit and the results of the talks between Chairman of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Vyacheslav Vichtorovich Volodin and Chairman of the National Assembly Vuong Dinh Hue, the President believed that the visit would create a strong driving force for bilateral cooperation, including cooperation between the State Duma of the Russian Federation and the National Assembly of Vietnam, thereby deepening the relationship between the two countries.
The President pointed out that the majority of Vietnamese people have good feelings towards the country and people of the Russian Federation; at the same time, he said that he always keeps many beautiful and profound memories of the country and people of the Russian Federation during his previous working trips to the Russian Federation.
At the reception, Chairman of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Vyacheslav Vichtorovich Volodin respectfully sent greetings from Russian President Vladimir Putin to President Vo Van Thuong; at the same time, he affirmed that the Russian Federation not only considers Vietnam a strategic partner but also a strategic friend.
Emphasizing that previous generations of leaders of the two countries have laid a solid and important foundation for the Russia-Vietnam relationship, the Chairman of the Russian Federation Duma said that the two sides need to find new forms for further development of bilateral cooperation in many different fields...
Summarizing the recent socio-economic development of the Russian Federation, the Chairman of the State Duma of the Russian Federation expressed his delight at the strong progress in the cooperation between Vietnam and the Russian Federation in recent times; at the same time, he hoped that the bilateral relations and cooperation in many fields would continue to develop more effectively and deeply in the coming time.

In the context of many difficulties and challenges, the Vietnam - Russian Federation relationship and cooperation still achieved practical and specific results.
To further strengthen bilateral relations, President Vo Van Thuong suggested that the two sides continue to maintain and increase the exchange of high-level delegations; actively promote economic, trade and investment cooperation; and restore and develop people-to-people exchange and tourism activities after COVID-19.
At the reception, President Vo Van Thuong thanked the Russian Federation, including the Russian Parliament, for supporting the Vietnamese community to live, study and work stably in Russia and hoped that the Russian Parliament, in its role as a legislative body, would support policies to create more favorable conditions for Vietnamese people to settle, work and labor in Russia.
Within the framework of the official visit to Vietnam, on the same morning, Chairman of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Vyacheslav Vichtorovich Volodin led a high-ranking delegation of the Russian Federation to lay wreaths and visit President Ho Chi Minh's Mausoleum; and laid wreaths in memory of the heroic martyrs at the Monument to the Heroic Martyrs on Bac Son Street (Ba Dinh, Hanoi).
