President attends the 85th anniversary of the founding of Vovinam sect

President Vo Van Thuong presented a flower basket to congratulate the anniversary.

Also attending were former President Nguyen Minh Triet; leaders of Binh Duong province; representatives of central and local departments and branches, and international guests.

At the ceremony, President Vo Van Thuong presented a beautiful flower basket to congratulate leaders, martial arts masters and Vovninam students in the country and around the world on their efforts and successes in practicing and promoting the Vietnamese national martial art globally.

Speaking at the ceremony, Chairman of VVF and World (WVVF) Mai Huu Tin shared: "Although we have developed Vovinam to 70 countries and territories, covering 5 continents, we do not want to stop, but want to develop it more widely. 85 years of development of Vovinam has created a cultural heritage for the Vietnamese people. We will not waste that heritage, but together bring Vovinam to a more worthy height, representing more strongly the two words Vietnam".

In 2022, Vovinam returned to the SEA Games arena in Hanoi. This will help this martial art develop further in the coming time. With the quintessence summarized in each martial art form, it can be said that Vovinam is contributing to making international friends love the country and people of Vietnam more and more. At the upcoming 32nd SEA Games in Cambodia, Vovinam will continue to participate. According to the plan, in June this year, VVF will complete the application to recognize Vovinam as an Intangible Cultural Heritage.

Vovinam martial arts performance at the anniversary ceremony

Earlier, on the same morning, at the Binh Duong Provincial Exhibition and Convention Center, the 4th Congress of the Vietnam Vovinam Federation (2023-2028) took place. The congress was attended by 67 delegates from departments, branches, provinces and cities across the country.

The Congress continued to elect Dr. Mai Huu Tin as President of VVF for the 4th term; elected Mr. Nguyen Binh Dinh as Secretary General of VVF for the 4th term. The Congress elected 9 Vice Presidents of the Federation in charge of 4 professional committees, including: Arbitration Committee, Research Committee, Finance Committee, Technical Committee and in charge of the following areas: Mekong Delta, Southeast, Central region...

Vovinam Viet Vo Dao was born in 1938, during the period when the whole country was seething with the spirit of resistance against French colonialism. At that time, martial artist Nguyen Loc, after a period of studying and researching many martial arts, created a new martial arts technique system called Vovinam (Vietnamese Martial Arts).

After many efforts, Vovinam has gradually asserted itself to become the pride of the national martial art. In the country, Vovinam has been taught in schools, contributing to the development and depth of the national martial art. Internationally, Vovinam is developing more and more strongly in the world, present in more than 70 countries and territories worldwide, attracting millions of martial artists. Currently, many organizations and Vovinam Federations around the world have been established and are operating effectively, contributing to the promotion of the country's martial art to countries in the region and around the world.
