South Korean National Assembly Speaker pledges to 'continuously support' Vietnam in the health sector

On March 25, the Korean National Assembly delegation led by Ms. Choi Younsuk (National Assembly member) had a working session with Thua Thien Hue province and Hue Central Hospital.

During this visit to Hue, the Korean National Assembly Delegation visited Hue Central Hospital, Branch 2 (Phong An Commune, Phong Dien District, Thua Thien Hue) - a friendship project sponsored and built by the Korean side.

The delegation also attended the milestone marking ceremony of the expansion project of Hue Central Hospital, Facility 2, which will be implemented this year.

After visiting the hospital's high-tech departments and rooms, Ms. Choi Younsuk said she was very impressed with the achievements that the hospital's medical team has been making.

Accordingly, since taking over the hospital in 2016, Hue Central Hospital, Branch 2, has become one of the major medical centers in the north of Thua Thien Hue province in particular and in the Central region in general.

The hospital currently has a scale of 300-500 beds, operated by a team of qualified professors, doctors, and medical doctors and is a reliable address for specialized medical examination and treatment in the Central region.

Currently, many modern medical techniques in the fields of cardiovascular intervention, surgery, MRI, etc. are being applied daily in hospitals.

According to Ms. Choi, the achievements of the hospital are not only appreciated by her personally but also by the Ministry of Health and the Korean Government.

Professor Pham Nhu Hiep, director of Hue Central Hospital, said that the current demand for medical examination and treatment of people at the hospital has become overloaded.

Therefore, Hue Central Hospital, Branch 2, will carry out a hospital expansion project this year.

Mr. Hiep hopes that in the future, the Korean Government will continue to accompany and cooperate with the hospital in the field of training high-quality medical staff, supporting medical equipment and supplies, etc. to soon bring the hospital to international standards.

At the meeting, Mr. Kim Jin Pyo - Chairman of the National Assembly of Korea - also sent a video congratulating the expansion of Hue Central Hospital, Facility 2.

Mr. Kim said that Hue Central Hospital is doing an excellent job of taking care of people's health in the central region of Vietnam.

"In the future, we pledge to pay close attention and continuously support to further strengthen medical and healthcare cooperation between Vietnam and Korea," said Mr. Kim.
