The program was organized by the Voice of Vietnam (VOV) in collaboration with the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region Broadcasting and Television Bureau, Guangxi Radio and Television (China), and Hong Kong Broadcasting and Television (China) to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and China (January 18, 1950 – January 18, 2025) and the “Vietnam-China Humanitarian Exchange Year 2025”.

The program opened with a medley of "Four Seasons Medley, Flowing Water, Golden Coins, Spring Wind, Long Lake and the work Ly Ngua O Nam". This was a performance rich in tradition, blending the essence of folk music from the three regions of North, Central, and South Vietnam.

The program featured spectacular and elaborately staged artistic performances by Vietnamese and Chinese artists. The Vietnamese side included Meritorious Artist Phan Thu Lan, Meritorious Artist Dang Thuat, singer Ngoc Ha, and the New Vitality National Orchestra, under the direction of conductor Dong Quang Vinh.

Speaking at the program, Mr. Ngo Minh Hien, Deputy General Director of the Voice of Vietnam, said: This is the second year the program has been organized, aiming to strengthen cultural exchange and expand media cooperation between the two sides. Notably, this year's program features the first-time participation of Hong Kong Broadcasting Corporation, demonstrating the expansion in both depth and breadth of cooperation between the Voice of Vietnam and its Chinese media partners, opening up many prospects for more vibrant exchange activities in the future.

Mr. Huang Zhihang, Deputy Director of the Guangxi Radio and Television Bureau, said: "The 'Friendship Song' is one of the typical activities for media cooperation between the two countries, contributing to promoting understanding and trust between the people of both sides."

“Let us continue to cultivate the close friendship between China and Vietnam, using media as a connecting thread, employing audiovisual media as a bridge to strengthen ties, and together tell beautiful stories of Sino-Vietnamese friendship. Let the flows of exchanges between the people of the two countries merge into a great river of friendship, contributing even more to enhancing mutual understanding and promoting strong cooperative relations between the two nations,” said Mr. Huang Zhihang.
