
Chairman of An Giang Provincial People's Committee Ho Van Mung inspected anti-IUU fishing work at Tac Cau fishing port.
To carry out the work of combating IUU fishing, An Giang Fishing Port Management Board has coordinated with the Office of Fisheries Inspection and Control of the Department of Fisheries and Fisheries Surveillance to inspect fishing vessels entering and leaving the port; monitor the volume of aquatic products unloaded through the port and confirm raw materials and certify the origin of exploited aquatic products.
From January 1, 2025 to November 26, 2025, the total number of fishing vessels arriving and departing from the port is 4,692; 100% of fishing vessels' fishing and seafood purchasing logs will be collected and stored at the fishing port's operating office; 100% of fishing vessels entering and leaving the port will declare via the eCDT system.

Speaking at the inspection session, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested the border guards and the An Giang Fishing Port Management Board to have a proactive response plan when natural disasters occur; and assigned the Department of Agriculture and Environment to supervise the implementation of this.
Through an inspection of the anti-IUU fishing work at the port, Chairman of An Giang Provincial People's Committee Ho Van Mung highly appreciated the sense of responsibility of the units in seriously and well performing their tasks.
The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested border guards and An Giang Fishing Port Management Board to intensify and diversify propaganda activities, update new legal regulations on IUU; trial results of cases, print and post at all ports and wharves; and prepare well the scenario to welcome the EC inspection delegation.
The Border Guard directed stations to strictly control fishing boats entering and leaving the station, absolutely not allowing unqualified fishing boats to leave port.

The working delegation worked with Kien Cuong - Tac Cau Seafood Company, listened to the company's report on production and business situation, and grasped the company's difficulties, proposals and recommendations.
Mr. Nguyen Quang Minh, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Kien Cuong - Tac Cau Seafood Company, said that the company is a member of Phu Cuong Group, with 4 seafood processing factories, the main products are shrimp, octopus, and surimi fish cakes.
Currently, the demand for housing for workers in Tac Cau is lacking, the company has proposed the province to allocate land to build housing for workers to rent from 500 to 1,000 apartments; at the same time, it has proposed to invest in upgrading and expanding the road to Tac Cau port.
On behalf of the leaders of the Provincial People's Committee, Chairman of the An Giang Provincial People's Committee Ho Van Mung acknowledged and commended the results the company has achieved in recent years and since the beginning of the year, contributing to the development of the seafood processing and export industry and creating jobs for workers in the province.

The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee affirmed that the province always cares about and accompanies businesses, especially promoting the processing industry, shifting the economic structure, reducing the proportion of agriculture, forestry and fishery, and increasing the proportion of industry.
With the above orientation, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee suggested that from the last months of the year, enterprises must set specific production and export growth targets and have plans to achieve the set growth targets.
Regarding product export output, in addition to the efforts of businesses, next year the province will have promotion programs, inviting businesses to participate to connect with new markets.
Responding to the business's proposal, the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee directed the Department of Construction to coordinate with localities and sectors to review the planning, especially the previous worker housing project, and report to the Provincial People's Committee; if the investor does not implement the project, proceed to revoke it and invite capable investors to implement it.
Regarding the proposal to invest in the road to Tac Cau fishing port, the Department of Agriculture and Environment is requested to report and propose to the Provincial People's Committee to direct public investment or assign investment to enterprises in the form of BOT.
