Accordingly, the department has established a surprise inspection team for the pharmaceutical and cosmetic sectors, with the participation of representatives from units such as the Ministry of Public Security , the Department of Traditional Medicine Management, the Central Institute for Drug Testing...
The delegation divided into 5 groups and focused on inspecting 38 establishments that produce, import and export drugs, pharmaceutical ingredients and cosmetics. Of these, 18 establishments are in the pharmaceutical sector and 20 establishments are in the cosmetics business.

During the inspection, the delegation discovered 17 establishments with violations. The Drug Administration has handled according to its authority or transferred the violation information to the competent authority for handling according to its authority, specifically:
In the pharmaceutical sector , 7 establishments committed administrative violations. The Department issued a document to temporarily suspend production for 1 establishment because it only met GMP level 4 principles; requested the destruction of 841 substandard Milgamma tubes and 2 batches of semi-finished products used to produce health protection foods because they did not meet storage conditions.
The Department has recommended that the competent authority (Department of Traditional Medicine Management) review the scope of the GMP certificate of one unit because at the time of inspection, the traditional medicine production line had not been operating for a long time and did not have enough equipment as at the time of assessment.
In the cosmetics sector , there are 9 establishments that have committed administrative violations, mainly declaring, advertising, and producing cosmetics with ingredients that do not match the cosmetic product declaration form.
The Department has made decisions to withdraw and temporarily stop receiving documents of VB Group Company (in Ho Chi Minh City); withdraw the certificate of "Good Manufacturing Practice for Cosmetics" of EBC Dong Nai Company.
According to the assessment of the Drug Administration, through inspection, no establishments producing, importing, exporting, or wholesaling drugs or pharmaceutical ingredients have been found to produce, import, export, or wholesaling counterfeit drugs, drugs of unknown origin, or smuggled drugs.
Establishments that produce, import, and wholesale drugs and pharmaceutical ingredients must strictly inspect the quality of input materials, in-process inspections, and finished drug products.
However, it is still discovered that some drug retail establishments do not strictly comply with regulations on legal drug trading, with full invoices and documents.
Counterfeit goods, goods of unclear origin... in the medical field mainly focus on functional foods and health protection foods.
