Holding the decision to rent social housing in his hand, Mr. Le Minh Thanh (born in 1951, An Hai ward) smiled with satisfaction because his dream of settling down has now come true. Mr. Thanh participated in the anti-American war and was awarded the First Class Resistance Medal.
For more than 10 years, Mr. Thanh and his wife have had a house but have not been able to live there because of a dispute. Meanwhile, Mrs. Tran Thi Chanh (born in 1954, Mr. Thanh's wife) has been sick all the time, and her children divorced, leaving Mr. Thanh to take care of their three grandchildren. "We are looking forward to the day we can move to a new place to stabilize our lives," Mr. Thanh shared.
Mr. Thanh's family is one of 92 households to whom the People's Committee of Da Nang City granted a decision to arrange social housing for people with revolutionary contributions on Vu Mong Nguyen Street (phase 1) on the morning of July 26, on the occasion of the 78th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs Day (July 27, 1947 - July 27, 2025).

According to the Department of Construction, the rental price of social housing at Vu Mong Nguyen apartment building (excluding the floor coefficient) is 57,822 VND/ m2 /month; the management and operation service price is 5,169 VND/ m2 /month. The rental price and management and operation costs after exemption and reduction according to regulations range from 637 thousand VND to 2,268 million VND/apartment. The rental period is 5 years, from the date of signing the decision.
The social housing complex for people with revolutionary contributions on Vu Mong Nguyen Street is part of the first phase of the Project to build social housing complexes for families with revolutionary contributions who have housing difficulties in the city in the period 2021 - 2025.

The project is built on a land area of 3,122m2 . The scale is a 12-storey apartment building, 1 basement and attic, divided into 209 apartments. The area of the apartments ranges from 65m2 to 77m2. Amenities include: kindergarten, service area, sports club. Total investment is more than 223.8 billion VND.
In the coming time, Da Nang city will continue to review and implement the Project on building social housing areas to accommodate people with revolutionary contributions, increasingly better meeting the housing needs of policy beneficiaries, people with revolutionary contributions and people in difficult circumstances in the city.
