A series of meaningful activities to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the tradition of the Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs sector

(Dan Tri) - A series of activities to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs sector's tradition day were held in many locations across the country, on the occasion of the country's founding anniversary.

On November 6, Minister Dao Ngoc Dung chaired a meeting of the Steering Committee for the 80th Anniversary of the Traditional Day and the 6th Patriotic Emulation Congress of the Labor - Invalids and Social Affairs sector, to assess the progress of implementation, determine the time, location and content of preparations for the series of activities.

At the meeting, Minister Dao Ngoc Dung summarized that this is an important event, not only for the industry but also for the country and the people, taking place on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh reading the Declaration of Independence, giving birth to the Democratic Republic of Vietnam, now the Socialist Republic of Vietnam. Therefore, the organization work needs to be carried out with high responsibility, arousing confidence and pride in the revolutionary history of the industry, whileeducating the tradition for current and future generations.

The Minister emphasized the guiding spirit, activities need to be organized practically, effectively, safely and economically, leaving a deep impression on the industry and society. At the same time, events must have strong influence, inspiring the community and society.

He noted that to ensure the successful organization of this special anniversary series of activities, there are 8 key tasks that need to be carried out, instead of 7 tasks as originally planned. The activities require the participation of all cadres and party members in the industry with a wide scope of implementation across the country.

One of the outstanding activities is the program to honor "Bright examples for the community". The program is scheduled to be held on March 25, 2025, the Social Work Day. The Minister requested the units to coordinate closely to select and honor typical examples that are truly worthy and have a strong influence.

Thong Nhat Hall (HCMC) was chosen as the venue for the event, with the participation of about 500 delegates.

Regarding the gratitude to those who have contributed, the Minister requested to focus on revolutionary war zones and key areas, where there are many historical witnesses, people who have directly contributed to the revolution, especially revolutionary soldiers who were imprisoned by the enemy, veteran revolutionary cadres, pre-uprising cadres...

The gratitude program is expected to be held in Hanoi in early July 2025, with 500 delegates attending.

Another important activity is to meet historical witnesses. The Minister suggested selecting 100-120 people who survived important historical moments such as 1945, 1954, and 1975. The meeting is expected to take place at the Presidential Palace on the occasion of the anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day on September 2.

The Ministry's leaders also noted that the organization of the Patriotic Emulation Congress should be combined with the 80th Anniversary of the Industry into one program, with a scale of about 500 participants. On this occasion, the industry will also honor and reward collectives and individuals with outstanding achievements.

Regarding the work of building historical documents, the Minister assigned the preparation of 3 important contents: a documentary film about the industry, a history - events book and a photo book. The film focuses on the 80-year history and highlights of the past 10 years. The history book will emphasize the important milestones and social policies of the industry until 2030, with a vision to 2045.

The organization of the traditional room of the Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs, building A at the Ministry's headquarters was chosen as a place to display documents and artifacts of historical significance, associated with important milestones of the sector.

In addition, the head of the Ministry directed to speed up the renovation of the sector's landmark works, especially the Monument in Trang Da commune ( Tuyen Quang city), one of the places with profound historical imprints of the Ministry during the resistance war.
