
During the resistance wars to protect the Fatherland, the people of Chuong My ward had more than 774 heroic martyrs; 260 wounded soldiers, 130 sick soldiers; 15 revolutionary cadres and soldiers were imprisoned by the enemy; 250 people who participated in the resistance war and their children were infected with toxic chemicals. More than 1,000 people who participated in the resistance war were awarded Medals and Medals by the State and received one-time subsidies; 82 Vietnamese Heroic Mothers were awarded and posthumously awarded noble titles.
Implementing Uncle Ho's teachings and the policies of the Party and State, the Party Committee, government and people of Chuong My ward have paid attention to implementing many practical activities to care for the material and spiritual life of people with meritorious services, war invalids and policy families.

Speaking at the meeting, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of Chuong My Ward Vu Ngoc Hoa expressed his respect and deep gratitude to the Vietnamese Heroic Mothers, Heroic Martyrs, wounded and sick soldiers and families of martyrs; at the same time, respectfully commended the spirit of overcoming difficulties, striving to rise up and the meaningful contributions of the policy beneficiaries to the development of the ward. He affirmed that taking care of people with meritorious services is not only a responsibility, but also a deep sentiment, which will be regularly paid attention to and implemented better by the Party Committee, government and people of the ward.

On this occasion, Chuong My Ward presented gifts to 102 delegates who were meritorious people and relatives of martyrs. In particular, on August 28, the Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the ward coordinated with the family to organize the reception of the remains of martyr Nguyen Cuu Thang (who died and was buried at the Ca Mau Province Martyrs' Cemetery) to rest at Cau Village Cemetery according to the family's wishes. These meaningful activities of Chuong My Ward demonstrate the morality of "remembering the source of water when drinking", contributing to easing the pain of war, fulfilling the sacred duty to those who fell for the independence and freedom of the Fatherland.
