PROGRAM TO SELECTE ATTRACTIVE TOURIST DESTINATIONS IN HO CHI MINH CITY AND 13 PROVINCES AND CITIES IN THE MEKONG DELTA 2024, OFFICIALLY LAUNCHED

On the morning of September 17, 2024, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism - Head of the Working Group of the Tourism Development Cooperation Council of Ho Chi Minh City and 13 provinces and cities in the Mekong Delta officially launched the Program to vote for attractive tourist destinations in Ho Chi Minh City and 13 provinces and cities in the Mekong Delta in 2024 with the theme "Upgrading destinations - Connecting journeys".

This program aims to honor destinations with outstanding tourism resources, capable of attracting and meeting the needs of tourists. At the same time, it supports promoting the image of tourism businesses, aiming to continue to promote strengths, improve service quality and diversify tourism products.

The subjects participating in the voting are tourist destinations that exploit sightseeing tours, organize tourism activities: recognized according to the Law on Tourism; Destinations with tourism resources that are exploiting sightseeing tours; Cultural - Historical Relic Sites, Museums, religious establishments that exploit tourism services; Eco-tourism destinations, tourist accommodation or resorts; Professional media establishments that provide tourism services.

The voting program has been developed and launched since April 2024. Up to now, 126 tourist destinations have registered to participate in the voting program. The voting journey has been developed, spread and created a communication effect to the community about outstanding tourist destinations, culinary products and tourism services, with the ability to attract and meet your needs for sightseeing, relaxation, entertainment, etc.

Select component parameters:

1. Selection Council: Including representatives of the Department of Tourism, Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Ho Chi Minh City and 13 provinces, Mekong Delta (14 people);

- Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism, Head of the Regional Cooperation Council's Working Group, Chairman of the Selection and Commentary Council.

- Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Long An, Head of the Eastern Mekong Delta Cooperation Cluster, Vice Chairman of the Selection Council.

- Kien Giang Department of Tourism, Head of the Western Mekong Delta Cooperation Cluster, Vice Chairman of the Voting Council.

- Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of provinces and cities in the Mekong Delta, Member of the Voting Council.

2. Professional Council:

Including representatives of the Mekong Delta Tourism Association, Ho Chi Minh City Tourism Association, Tuoi Tre Newspaper, Institute for Social Tourism Research, prestigious individuals/experts in fields related to tourism activities in Ho Chi Minh City and 13 provinces and cities in the Mekong Delta, representatives of tourism businesses in the provinces, travel bloggers, KOLs, tourism reporters, Tour Guide Associations of local addresses...

3. Readers and tourists: in Ho Chi Minh City and 13 provinces and cities in the Mekong Delta, foreigners currently living and working in Vietnam and the Vietnamese community at home and abroad...

Methods, ways of selection and selection:

1. Choose a method:

- International voting at the destination on the basis of ensuring the authenticity and mind of the information vote.

2. Selection ratio: votes from the Expert Council use 70%; votes from readers and tourists use 30%.

3. Evaluation method: The Comment Council will evaluate, review and decide based on the results of synthesizing comments from the Expert Council and the public.
