Attending the event were comrades: Nguyen Hai Anh, Vice President, General Secretary of the Vietnam Red Cross Society ; Vu Thi Hien Hanh, Vice President of the Provincial People's Committee, Head of the Provincial Steering Committee for Voluntary Blood Donation; representatives of the National Institute of Hematology and Blood Transfusion; a number of relevant departments, branches, organizations, units and many outstanding blood donors and families in the province.

"Red Journey" is a national voluntary blood donation program, chaired by the National Institute of Hematology and Blood Transfusion, in coordination with provinces and cities across the country.
After 12 years of implementation (2013 - 2025), "Red Journey" has become a beautiful symbol of humanity, compassion and responsibility for the community.


In Lao Cai , in recent years, the voluntary blood donation movement has been actively responded to by agencies, units and a large number of people in the province. The amount of blood received has increased steadily over the years: in 2024, the whole province received nearly 18,000 units of blood; in the first 6 months of 2025, the whole province organized 15 blood donation campaigns, receiving nearly 7,000 units of blood.
Notably, just one month after the merger of the two levels of local government, the whole province mobilized over 200 people to donate blood on an emergency basis, receiving over 180 units of blood, making an important contribution to emergency and treatment work in the locality and supporting central hospitals to save the lives of patients across the country.

Speaking at the program, Ms. Vu Thi Hien Hanh, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, acknowledged and commended the efforts and contributions of all levels, sectors, localities, units, organizations and individuals in the work of propaganda, mobilization, organization and participation in voluntary blood donation in recent times.
To achieve the 2025 target, Lao Cai province mobilized over 20,000 people to donate blood, receiving over 18,000 units of blood. The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee called on civil servants, public employees, armed forces, workers and people of all walks of life to actively participate in voluntary blood donation; propagate and mobilize everyone to participate in "sharing blood - giving hope", contributing to building a healthy community with enough blood ready for emergency and treatment services.

On this occasion, the Central Executive Committee of the Vietnam Red Cross Society awarded Certificates of Merit to 5 groups and 5 individuals with outstanding achievements in the work of mobilizing voluntary blood donation in 2024; the Steering Committee for Voluntary Blood Donation of Lao Cai province awarded Certificates of Merit to 5 groups and 9 individuals with outstanding achievements in propaganda and mobilization of voluntary blood donation; the Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Investment and Development of Vietnam in Lao Cai province awarded 20 gifts (each worth 500,000 VND) to support families in difficult circumstances in the area.



At the program, Ms. Vu Thi Hien Hanh, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee and the working delegation visited and presented flowers to officials and people participating in voluntary blood donation; and presented gifts to a number of patients being treated at Lao Cai General Hospital No. 1.


On the very first day, nearly 1,200 volunteers, including officials, civil servants, armed forces, union members, youth, and workers from departments, branches, organizations, units, and enterprises in the area, registered to donate blood. The Organizing Committee received nearly 903 units of blood; this amount of blood will supplement the blood reserves at medical facilities in the province to serve the emergency and treatment of patients.
