Folk music is a typical and key element of Vietnamese culture. Every Vietnamese is born and experiences a sweet childhood with the lullaby of their mother, chirping nursery rhymes and the melodious, affectionate singing of their homeland's instruments. Folk music has watered the souls of Vietnamese people for thousands of years and continues to accompany the spiritual life of the people. It is the driving force of social development in accordance with the spirit of the Party and State that considers culture as the foundation for sustainable development. Because culture, folk art and literature are precious assets, are the pride, and are the unique cultural identity of Vietnam.
