Owning your own plane is a dream of many people, but not everyone has the means to make it happen.
One couple was lucky enough to experience such a "dream flight" when they found themselves the only passengers in the cabin.
Kevin McCuillon and Samantha, from the UK, were treated like celebrities on the three-hour flight from Corfu to Manchester.
The couple's special flight took place in 2021, but the story has only recently gone viral online.
"It was a great experience. I don't think it will happen again. It's like winning the lottery," said Samantha, 50.
At the time, the couple were enjoying a week-long trip . They decided to extend their vacation. When they returned, they booked a flight with budget airline Jet2.
When they arrived at the airport, the couple felt strange because there were no other passengers. "We felt a little strange. I was a little panicked," Samantha recalled.
Things got even stranger when the only two people on the bus were the two who believed they had missed their flight.
"The captain and the flight attendants said my husband and I were the only passengers on the flight. The captain also said that after the plane took off, we could do whatever we wanted and treat it as our own private plane," Samantha said.
The truth is, Jet2 had no seats available for the flight but the plane needed to return to Manchester, so they decided to fly it anyway, even though there were only two passengers.
The couple happily enjoyed the special flight. They even danced in the cabin. "It was wonderful. The staff were so nice. They offered us candy. We didn't have to pay anything extra," Samantha shared.
The couple even received a special thank you from airline Jet2.
"We are delighted that the two of you have experienced our VIP service. Flights departing from Manchester to Corfu are very busy, but the return flight is often quiet," a spokesperson for the airline said.
