Go "hunting" for strikers

Another transfer window has seen Premier League sides dominate.

In recent seasons, Premier League clubs have always spent the most and also generated the most revenue from transfers. This summer is no exception.

According to Transfermarkt, the Premier League is the league with the most spending on the market, with a total figure of more than 2 billion euros. Liverpool, Arsenal, Chelsea and MU have all significantly strengthened their attack.

Defending champions Liverpool spent 95 million euros to recruit Hugo Ekitike. Arsenal, after a long negotiation period, also got Viktor Gyokeres for 65.8 million euros + 10 million in variable costs. Chelsea and MU were not to be outdone when each team added two strikers.

The Blues brought in Joao Pedro and Liam Delap for a total value of approximately 100 million euros, while the Red Devils rebuilt their attack with Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo, costing nearly 150 million euros.

All these deals have one thing in common: scoring goals in the Premier League is a luxury.

Ekitike – “New Henry” at Anfield

Liverpool are the kings of English football with an almost unrivaled Premier League title.

The Ekitike deal was a big gamble for coach Arne Slot. The French striker has a modern, flexible style of play, not only good at moving but also creating many opportunities from all areas of the pitch.

Despite only scoring 15 goals and providing eight assists in the Bundesliga last season, he has the potential to improve immensely.

Slot wants to turn Ekitike into the “new Firmino”, a striker who is willing to drop deep, stretch the opponent’s defense to create space for teammates like Mohamed Salah (like the situation that led to the opening goal in the 3-2 win over Bilbao), Cody Gakpo... or maybe Isak in the future.

Many people call him “the new Henry” – not because of his pure scoring ability, but because of his footballing mindset and creative qualities.

Gyokeres – the ideal striker for Arsenal

Arsenal want to step up to the next level, and coach Arteta understands that the team needs a "penalty box killer".

Viktor Gyokeres, who competed with Kylian Mbappe for the European Golden Shoe last season, was brought in after tense negotiations with Sporting Lisbon.

A record of 97 goals in 102 games in Portugal makes the Swede an ideal piece in the Gunners' squad.

The media called Gyokeres “the perfect villain” – the man who could overthrow Liverpool's throne.

Chelsea make changes with Joao Pedro and Delap

Manager Enzo Maresca has brought stability to a Chelsea side that has been in disarray after years of misdirected spending, and wins in the Conference League and Club World Cup are testament to the revival.

The Blues' long-standing problem has been the striker position. Joao Pedro was signed midway through the Club World Cup and immediately shone, scoring in the semi-finals and final.

At nearly 70 million euros, Joao Pedro is expected to be a big player – a wide forward, combined with Cole Palmer, Pedro Neto, Enzo Fernandez, possibly with Xavi Simons and Alejandro Garnacho.

Meanwhile, Liam Delap is a classic English striker. He scored 12 goals for Ipswich and was brought to Chelsea for 35 million euros - a gamble with potential waiting to be exploited.

MU "demolish and rebuild"

MU continues to enter another phase of rebuilding. This time, they start from the front line by recruiting Cunha and Mbeumo. Neither of them are traditional “number 9s”.

Cunha is the choice of coach Amorim. Last season at Wolves, he scored 15 goals and provided 6 assists - a respectable number.

Meanwhile, Mbeumo had an explosive season at Brentford with 20 goals and 7 assists in 38 Premier League matches.

Although success at Old Trafford is not certain, these two new recruits bring with them a lot of potential goals.

Isak and the 138 million euro shake of the head

Liverpool are not done yet. Their next target is Alexander Isak – the striker who scored 23 goals last season for Newcastle, second only to top scorer Salah.

Isak has agreed personal terms, but Newcastle are not willing to let him go easily. They have even rejected a €138 million offer from Liverpool.

If the transfer is approved, this will be the third time this summer that Liverpool have spent over 90 million euros on a player.

Newcastle, in case of losing Isak, has prepared an alternative: the latest offer of 90 million euros (80 + 10) for Benjamin Sesko, who is also pursued by MU.

The Premier League is in the midst of a “goal-crazy” transfer window.
