The two "super products" of Nguyen Thai Quoc Cuong and Bui Van Binh not only helped Ho Chi Minh City Police Club beat Becamex Ho Chi Minh City in round 4 of V-League 2025-2026 but also demonstrated the maturity and confidence of the promising generation of Ho Chi Minh City football players.
The convincing 3-1 victory in the Ho Chi Minh City derby affirmed the strategic talent and experience of coach Le Huynh Duc. The 53-year-old strategist knows how to exploit the potential of young players in the top professional football playground in Vietnam.

In the match at Go Dau Stadium on September 21, after a pass-and-go situation in the midfield with two foreign teammates, Quoc Cuong controlled the ball neatly before creating momentum and unleashing a tricky shot that defeated veteran goalkeeper Tran Minh Toan. Near the end of the match, Van Binh broke the offside trap and also confidently showed off his neat ball control technique, delicate finishing, scoring the goal that sealed the 3-1 victory for Ho Chi Minh City Police. These were also the first goals of Quoc Cuong and Van Binh in the V-League this season.
Quoc Cuong is a product of the HAGL-Arsenal JMG Academy and Nutifood JMG, having won many titles in national youth tournaments. His aggressive and enthusiastic playing style helped Quoc Cuong shine in the First Division, playing for Ba Ria - Vung Tau Club. Joining Ho Chi Minh City Club from the 2024-2025 season, the Nghe An player gradually asserted his position in the squad. Last season, Quoc Cuong played 13 matches and scored 1 goal in the V-League.
Combining with teammate Duc Phu, Quoc Cuong played steadily in the midfield with the task of coordinating the ball to the front line, helping the home team's defensive counter-attacking style of play become sharper.
Meanwhile, Van Binh stood out with the title of "Top scorer" of the National First Division 2023-2024 before joining Ho Chi Minh City Club in V-League. That season, the striker born in 2003, originally from Vinh Long , scored 11 goals in 16 matches for Ba Ria - Vung Tau.
Although he did not contribute any goals to the home team, Van Binh was trusted by coach Phung Thanh Phuong to play in 12 matches in the second leg of V-League 2024-2025, helping the "red battleship" successfully stay in the league.
This season, Van Binh is a backup option in the attack of the HCM City Police Club, brought in from the bench by coach Le Huynh Duc to create a breakthrough in attack. Van Binh showed his sharp "goal-hunting" talent when the coaching staff gave him the opportunity to play in the second half of the victory over Becamex HCM City.
In the early stages of the new season, the Police team boldly created competition conditions for many young players born in 2000 or later, including: Le Kha Duc (born in 2007), Nguyen Thai Quoc Cuong (2004), Bui Van Binh (2003) and Nguyen Duc Phu (2003)...
"Continuously creating conditions for young players to compete and gain experience in the V-League is also a way to form a successor generation for the Ho Chi Minh City Police Club in the near future.
