Nam Dinh Club reverses the score to win against PVF-CAND

On the evening of August 27, Nam Dinh Club defeated PVF-CAND with a score of 2-1 in the third round match of V-League 2025 - 2026 at Thien Truong Stadium.

With home field advantage and a highly rated squad, Nam Dinh Club confidently deployed their game plan and pressured PVF-CAND right from the first minutes.

Coach Vu Hong Viet's team continuously caused trouble in the visitors' penalty area, with accurate passes and shots from Brenner and Lam Ti Phong, but all were blocked by goalkeeper Phi Minh Long or went out.

PVF-CAND actively retreated to defend, but were not completely passive. They still tried to attack and had a few shots from Hoang Vu Samson or Amarildo.

The surprise happened in the 45+2 minute, when the team pressed forward, PVF-CAND stole the ball from Nam Dinh. Nguyen Thanh Nhan got the ball and skillfully turned the ball to eliminate Dang Van Toi's pursuit and then shot into the far corner, leaving goalkeeper Tran Nguyen Manh helpless, putting the away team ahead 1-0.

Right after the break, Nam Dinh FC regained their composure and immediately launched a counterattack. In the 51st minute, Brenner tapped the ball into the net from Romulo's corner kick, leveling the score at 1-1.

After this loss, PVF-CAND revealed many mistakes and had to pay the price.

In the 66th minute, Brenner's pass tore through the PVF-CAND defense, sending the ball to Caio Cesar. The midfielder handled the ball neatly and then shot skillfully into the far corner, sending the ball through a very narrow gap between two defenders and out of reach of goalkeeper Phi Minh Long to raise the score to 2-1 for Nam Dinh.

In the remaining time, Nam Dinh continued to have more opportunities from the loopholes of PVF-CAND's defense but could not take advantage of them. 2-1 was the final score of the match.

This victory helped Nam Dinh Club gain 3 points and temporarily rise to the top of the V-League 2025 - 2026 rankings. PVF-CAND lost 2 consecutive matches and dropped to the bottom half of the rankings.

After round 3, the national championship will take a break to make way for the activities of the national teams.
